My Mum (late 70's) and Dad (mid 80's) geocache. Mum called me the other night all upset (I thought someone in the family had died). She has misplaced/lost her gps'r. Geocaching is something that both Mum and Dad enjoy and it gets them out to meet people. I hate to see them stop. All their friends have either died or are in nursing homes, yet they are healthy and active. This is a way for them to be involved with the out-of-doors, keep active, and meet new people. Do you have an etrex I can buy dirt cheap? I don't want to go out and buy them a new one for two reasons.... I'm broke (house renovations), and who knows, that darn thing may show up in the silliest place. E-bay is not the place to shop.

Hmmm I was going to mention Ebay but I guess that is out. I have had good luck with them but I guess some others have not. Why not check out the GPS Garage sale in the Groundspeak forums? Just post a request in there and see what happens, you never know. Here is the link for that forum:

I had a friend that went to the Walmart in Paris Maine last week and bought a bran new eTrex Legend for $40. Thats right $40. It was mis marked and they sold it to him. He asked if that had any more because he was going to buy as many as they had but that was the last one.

Sorry to get off subject. But wouldn't it be nice to find something like that.

Hey Karen,

I can kick in 5 - 10 dollars to help offset the cost of a new or used GPSr. I would have thought eBay would have been the place to look beside the geocaching forum's. Only wish I had one to sell or donate to help you out!!!

Happy Caching!!!!!
