What a difference 4 years has made. I just thought that everyone might find it interesting to see who the top cachers in the state were 4 years ago. 9 finds made you one of the top cachers in the state!! I don't think that most of these cachers are active anymore.

Interesting, we still see a couple of these names around but with sooooo many new cachers joining daily.............wow, how about a cachers hall of fame? :D

That list is from 3/18/02. To accumulate my 27 finds to that date I had found nearly every cache within about 80 miles of home. At that point I knew almost every cache in Maine by name.

Yeah, high density meant that there were probably 35 caches within 100 miles of home, now there are 2072.

Wow . . . fascinating to see how much things have changed in four short years . . . it must be really rewarding for those of you who were doing geocaching in its infancy and to see how much it has grown and changed over the years (and I'm not just talking about the number of caches and cachers, but rather where the caches are located, types, etc.)

whaddya mean before???? what about the during??? that's what makes the hunt more interesting!! haha, just kidding. I don't like to carry my beer in my backpack because it gets to warm and fizzy. :p

well ya can't very well go walkin past the ranger station gulping on a guinness!! they see you carrying beer into the park and they get all pissy cuz ya won't share, it's brutal i tell ya, it's best just to keep it hush hush and save more for yourself. :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Whoo Hoo! I should be on that list tomorrow. I just found #200 this morning down in Woods Hole on the Cape. It was a beautiful & memorable area to hit #200
