I am helping him in every way I can. Letís see how many others can make an effort to make this one. Letís see if we can get a good turn out for this. The first two we had this year turned out real good. But I think we can get more. Everyone try and make it please. I am working on some good door prizes along with Mainiac1957. I am heading to Delorme tomorrow and going to talk to them about trying to get them to donate something for a door prize. I want this to be the best event we have had so far. We are also going to try and have door prizes for the children as well. So letís all mark this on our calendar and reserve that date for this event.

I just got off the phone with Delorme this morning and they are sending me a copy of Delorme Street Atlas for a door prise at this event. So we can add that one to the list of door prises.

That's great Rick!!

I am trying a second round of contacts for Garmin, Magellan, and Groundspeak. The first attempt yielded no response :( I'll keep trying and will keep you and Brad posted as to my progress.

I can't thank all of you that are helping me with this event. Then again I think of it more like our picnic. Maine Geocachers as a group that is. I have been so blasted busy at work I haven't had a minute of spare time. But I will.. I assure you. See you all soon. Brad

Today I generously received two door prizes from Epic Sports in Bangor. We still have many more expected. Make sure you are planning to attend "The Last Cache Bashe" in September. I hope to have lots of fun and games for all.

I picked up another couple items today from another local business. We are getting some good door prizes for the picnic. We should be thinking about inviting some people who are interested in getting into caching. This would be a good opportuinty for them to see what crazy nuts we all are. Same rules apply: bring meat to grill and a side dish to share. E-mail me and let me know if you have anyone in mind, and I can extend an invitation too. See you all soon.

We are relatively new to geocaching. Plan to attend the "Bashe". Since it is in the town where I grew up, I am anxious to wander around the area again.:)

I want to give credit where credit is due. To Judy (Beachcomber), Rick and Donna (Blazing Trolls), Frank (Parmacheenee), and to others to numerous to mention. Thank you so much for all your efforts to make the picnic a huge success. From the give away magnets to all the wonderful door prizes, and more. Without all your help I couldn't have begun to make this the great event that it was. We did also have a little help from Mother Nature on the weather end. To all who came and posted on GC the kind comments, Thanks!
I seem to have better luck with events than with physical caches, so this will most likely not be my last. However, I would like to see some done by others in different parts of the state. To give those who can't travel far the opportunity to make some. See you all out on the trails real soon. Brad

Wow, what a wonderful time Jean & I had at the Dorothea Dix Park Maine Event Cache on Saturday! We met some of the finest people around, and, Jean and I both thank everyone for making us feel most welcome. This event seemed to be a huge success, and, I would like to give congrats to all involved whom had anything to do in the setting up of this great get-together. I am glad we attended, and, Jean said she would be interested in going to more. Again, Thanks so much for making our weekend a memorial one, and, I am proud to be a part of Maine Geocaching. I'm glad I could help and wouldn't have missed the event for anything! I had a fantastic time - ridiculing about Old470 and all!!! Such a fantastic group of people. It was good to see those who I had met before as well as make new friends. I don't think I even got to meet or talk with everyone there - next time! The park was a perfect spot for the event and the weather was, of course, perfect as well.

Thanks again Brad for taking the initiative - it was great fun! I look forward to more events in the future and perhaps even hosting one myself at some point.
