View Full Version : Sheesh! One of our TB's is in CHINA!!!
WhereRWe? 10-10-2006, 12:18 PM RULOST2? and I especially like picking up and relocating TB's, so it is a real treat to see that our GeoMaine Furby TB is in Beijing, China (http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=4fe17956-c67c-4c61-a8ea-3e544376cb7d)!
Sudonim 10-10-2006, 12:44 PM It's odd, on the TB page it didn't record the mileage to China. That would have been impressive.
Beach Comber 10-10-2006, 12:54 PM WoW!!! That is awesome! I have a couple that have remained fairly active and it is fun to watch where they go.
Mainelyroses 10-10-2006, 01:06 PM That is so cool!! I also have a fascination with travel bugs and their adventures. I recently bought a Geocoin that is on its way to Italy. The owner of the website where I bought it is going there on vacation and is taking quite a few of them along and will release them during his travels there.

The website is still trying to calculate that... what? you havent noticed your PQs comin in slower? :D
Sudonim 10-10-2006, 10:13 PM The part that seems to take the longest is updating the check marks on the maps. Seems to take up to a week to show the caches you've already found on the maps.
WhereRWe? 11-08-2006, 07:37 PM Sheesh!
Here's a photo (http://img.geocaching.com/track/log/8b59a336-1965-466d-8083-527b04441c28.jpg) of our MaineFurby TB on the Great Wall.
And it was picked up and is now in Germany! I love it!!! :D :D :D
Beach Comber 11-08-2006, 07:59 PM Are you sure he isn't up the coast at Big Al's in Wiscasset? I just saw him on TV the other day - he said he was on Route 1 in Wiscasset and I swear he was standing in front of the Great Wall of China! :p
That is cool! Germany, too? Sometimes I swear that my TB's travel to more faraway places that I ever will!!

Have you considered putting a TB tag on yourself and hiding out at a cache . . . maybe then you could log a few miles for free? ;) :D

Well, my most recent trip, yes. AND I hope I will get there agin in 2007. My last big trip was a number of years ago to Armenia and France. Would love to go again for sure, but honestly it is more likely that I could send a travel bug there before I make it - LOL - Lots of trips in the US and Canada, but not many outside of that.

Armenia? Isn't that over someplace near Rumford?? ;) ;)
Sooo - You've been to France? Sheesh! I stopped counting after we'd been to Paris for the 10th time! LOL! (But we lived in Europe for 7 years. Tough life, I know.  ) Our older son was born in Belgium.

Yes, Armenia is up that way. You've seen it on that sign with all the country names, right? lol
Yes, I have been to France - a whirlwind tour on the way to Armenia and then on the way back. Two short stays, but fortunately, the people I traveled with had been there before so we were able to see a lot in those few hours. I loved the architecture most of all!! It is impressive for sure. But then again, there is nothing like going into a prayer room in a monastery that has been carved into the side of a mountain like we did in Armenia - amazing!

LOL!
But Maine cachers need to make more caching trips to Canada. While the caches tend to get weird the further you get from the border (Moncton, NB is famous for plastic bags hanging from tree branches), but there are MANY caches near Sherbrooke. QC (only 3 hours from Bangor/Waterville), and most people speak English in that area of Quebec.
:D :D
