I figured I would ask this in hopes of getting some info regarding sending out a newsletter in a bulk email application. I know some of the members have their own businesses here and was wondering if there was any free software applications out there to allow the sending of newsletters to at least 500 email recipients? I googled the questions but there are so many choices that I figured I could get some help here and maybe some good suggestions from those that might be using something. If not free then a reasonable price would work also. I have access to a web servor so that is not a problem.

The reason I ask it that our local Elk's organization is looking into emailing out our monthly newsletter to those that have computers and email addresses and this would ease the cost of sending out USPS mailings each month. Thanks for any sugggestions you might have.

I think most any email program would send the newsletters, but you may have to check with the ISP that you are sending the email through. Many of them limit how many people you can send an email to. Wish I could help you more, maybe someone has an answer.

Spam filters also look for "number of recipients" therefore if you have a great number of "recipients" in one email the mail may either be not delivered by some ISP's and filtered by some programs and like Zone Alarm. I'm not sure how Outlook spam filter works but if you create "groups" you can work around the "large number of recipients."

There is freeware though that claims "subscription based" therefore an individual email is sent to each person on the list:

This is not a recommendation only an illustation of what is out there. I did a quick search I saw dozens of choses for free software.
