For those of you seeking a something other than Rescuing Caches:rolleyes: here's some news!

If you haven't gotten your Christmas tree yet, would be willing to travel to Orland Maine this Sunday - Great Pond Mountain Land Trust Association's Natural Area in the town of Orland is sponsoring a fund raiser - selling Christmas Trees. For $20 - you can go, pick out your tree and cut it.:) FMI call 469-7190. They also had a little hot chocolate stand for refreshments.

In addition, there are two caches on trust land:) and others close by. The trust land caches are MAIN ROAD LOAD (http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=ed542d32-dc4a-412a-ad95-067e10a51b9d) and I'm Fond of Great Pond (http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=02d1b338-7faa-4540-b9a8-267acdc7a7fa) both recently adopted by Happy Trolls.

Just an FYI for anyone interested. The web site for the land trust is http://www.greatpondtrust.org/ Although they don't have the tree project on the web site it was on WABI TV News this morning.

Here is their answer to my inquiry about details. If anyone is in the area and hasn't gotten their tree - this would be wonderful to support.

Thanks for asking! Yes, we’ll be repeating the event this Sunday, noon to 3 pm. Meet at the Wildlands South Gate on Rte. 1, just south of the Rte. 176 intersection in East Orland (look for our banners). The cost is $25 per family, which gets you a tree, hayride and snacks. Saws are available, as well as help choosing and cutting if you wish. We have an area set aside with plenty of good sized trees, but they are wild, which means you might have to look a little to find just the right one! Dress warmly. Proceeds benefit this 4,300-acre natural area. Hope to see you there!

Sheesh! For $25 you can come over to my house and cut a tree! LOL!

(No, on second thought, since I won't be offering snacks and a hayride, I'll give you the tree for $20.)

And for $5 you can come to my house and cut down any of my "skunk spruce" trees that I have growing on my property . . . and I'll even haul you around in my red wheelbarrow (as long as you weigh 150 pounds or less) and afterwards treat you to some three-year-old hot cocoa that has been gathering dust in my pantry . . . and best of all no saws are needed . . . I'll loan you my Husquvarna chainsaw (as long as you sign a I-will-not-sue-Firefighterjake-if-I-inadvertently-cut-off-my-leg form.) :D ;)

That is until you threw in the weight cause. I sure would have enjoyed the fresh cocoa. And who doesn't like power tools.
