An ever growing group of us are going to do the Round Top cache Monday, October 13th. We're shooting for a noon starting time for our ascent. Mapachi, his wife, his daughter, his next door neighbor, his probation officer, dblbogey, maybe hollora and Di and myself are part of the yak train. If any of you are interested in what promises to be a fall-foliage-fun-filled-festive-frolick, let me know.:)

And has a wonderful view of Great Pond. The hike up is a short 20 minutes to an easy find. Don't foget your camera. It's also a 2001 placed cache. One of my favorites.

And Haffy's French's Mountain too! http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=24fa8727-0224-4e51-b659-b3a97937dd5c

It would be nice to know that some day 35 years from now that I'll be able to retire and be able to go caching in the middle of a work day. Until then, I'm stuck with weekends and anything I can do on an hour lunch break. Enjoy, I'll be the view will be great.

Long Weekend? What is that? They don't celebrate Columbus day down here unfortunately. Although I will be attending this event this weekend. Have fun, I loved the hike up Round top.

Mainiac, We are heading out tomorrow night and plan on caching all day Saturday. I want to hit caches by Diana's baths and work our way up towards the Twin Mountain area. Sunday is devoted to Santa's Village for the kids. We just might bump into you!

I really hope my Dad will come because he really needs to get out of the house more and he is a gadget guy. I'll see if beer is a good bribe for him?

Free beer is almost enough for me to drive over from N. Conway. The beer was free right?

Let's plan on meeting at 10:30 at the Belgrade Community Center. It is located on Route 27 about a half mile south of town. There's an easy cache there, GC1FDCH that you can use to find the place.

If you're late, the trail head is off the Watson Pond Road. You can get there by going south on 27 for a mile or so and taking a right onto the Castle Island Road. After about 4 miles, turn right onto the Watson Pond Road. The trailhead is on the Watson Pond Road and is marked as such. It will be on your left.

I'll have a few beers on ice for the attendees.( Lawyer word for "folks who show up!") Weather should be perfect. Don't forget your camera!:)

Can I bring my pet Yak, "Tanglefoot"? I have invited my neighbor, Tence Noogie. He used to be a Burppa guide at the hunting camps in Wytopitloc. Both aught to be a lot of help on our accent! I will be telling my Archibald Bearasol joke at the top!
Come join us for the hike and the laughs!

Regrettably, the rain is not scheduled to stop here in Central Maine until noontime so the trail will be very slippery in spots. Having spoken to a few of the folks that were planning on doing this cache, the concensus is that we ought to put it off to a drier day. Sorry, but I guess that's the prudent thing to do.:(

Thanks for the phone call. I was going to have to cancel due to a horrid cold anyway. Hopefully another day. Everyone have a good one.

It was the best day of the whole weekend to pack up and go home. We did not see a cloud all weekend and did not see a raindrop until we got back into Maine. The only advantage to all the clouds was that the temp did not drop into the low 30's last night. This worked out as we ran out of propane last night and the furnace shut off at 5 a.m. Conway is beautiful this time if year and I highly recommend it to anyone that wants to do some fall hiking. It was the only camping trip my family took this year that it did not rain. :( If I grabbed anyone's coins or TB's in Eustis, they are all safely delivered to caches in N.H. P.S. I put in a good word with Santa and he said that he would get all of our missing coins back.

I was also in Conway this weekend hiking the south end of Moat mt. The weather Sunday was PERFECT. Not a cloud in the sky, not too hot, not too cold, absolutely beautiful. This is the kind of hike that you think about in Feb. and wish warmer weather was here. Even Mt. Washington was clear, you could see the smoke from the cog railway from Moat.
