I always try and get up to a few of the standpipe tours every year. Since the weather is looking good I may go tomorrow night. Anyone else?:cool:

HehHeh . . . I've already had the "special" Thomas Hill Standpipe . . . hung out at the very top . . . but I didn't get very close to the edge. I went up there when a crew was putting up a new radio antenna . . . figured it would be one of those once-in-a-life time opportunities.

I've had this on my calendar since I saw on the news that I missed the opening on May 26th. See you there...

They always seem to run the announcement of the standpipe tours on the day they are happening. Kinda hard to plan ahead when you are reading the BDN as the tour is happening. I have still made a couple of tours, well worth the time.

Hey Dan, can we circle around the Standpipe in a Helicopter?

I assume Tracy, aka fins to the right, knows how to rappel so he'll be the first out the door?

Tell you what.....jump out of the balcony up top....if you live after hitting the ground I can guarantee you a helicopter flight.

I'll be going since I missed the last tour. Would be nice to see the view of the city from up there. :)

It is a great view. I was able to go up early one morning when they were working on the roof. I happened to know someone on the crew...definitely a great opportunity.

Wondering what time other cachers might be there tomorrow? I plan on being there around 6:30 with the kids and DrWhoGrl will be there as well. May not be an event but cool to be there at the same time as some of you.

Wish I could but I'll be down south at another event.
