My idea is to clean up everything in my proximity, but obviously it's not working, my closest unfound is just 0.8 km far away :)
View Full Version : How far from home is your closest unfound geocache? cano 03-09-2010, 11:55 AM My idea is to clean up everything in my proximity, but obviously it's not working, my closest unfound is just 0.8 km far away :) Sudonim 03-09-2010, 12:06 PM At one point I was down to 40 unfound caches within 50 miles of Bangor. Now there are 620 unfound in that circle! I honestly thought I'd find them all (back in '05 or '06). My closest is "Taco Treats" .8 miles away. I've been out there 3 times and nobody has found it since September. Ekidokai 03-09-2010, 12:51 PM I went out after I saw all the DNF's It is gone. cano 03-09-2010, 01:52 PM At one point I was down to 40 unfound caches within 50 miles of Bangor. My nearest unfound is only .59 away. That one is across the river though. brdad 03-09-2010, 05:20 PM My closest unfound is .48 miles away. My closest unfound that I am sure I want to find someday is 3.7 miles away. Excluding events of course... rcwhit 03-09-2010, 06:22 PM Well we've got one at .5 and two at .8. The rest are over a mile. I guess we should start cleaning them up! pm28570 03-09-2010, 06:29 PM uh.......you're not counting puzzle caches are you Dave? shuman road searchers 03-09-2010, 06:58 PM 7 miles and then 3 at 10 miles brdad 03-09-2010, 08:53 PM uh.......you're not counting puzzle caches are you Dave? I actually like puzzle caches, but I'd like to be rewarded for my efforts at the cache site. I have not been informed this is the case with the puzzle caches closest to me, so they are not on my "must do" list. However, I do have a few of the puzzles solved and will probably go do them someday. Perhaps I'll walk or bike to them from the house and get some much needed exercise while doing those. JustKev 03-09-2010, 09:19 PM We've got a puzzle cache 3.5 miles and a traditional cache 4.4 miles from us that are the closest unfound caches to our house. Neither of us is in a big hurry to do puzzle caches so that one may remain unfound in the foreseeable future. Gob-ler 03-09-2010, 09:34 PM It depends! Back in Maine at one time it was almost 30 miles and then all those caches started appearing. Here in PA it is like 3 miles, but here in PA I have over 4000 within 50 miles! Fun! Wow! Moonsouth 03-09-2010, 09:48 PM I have got Alex's Nightmare multi cache about 6.5 miles away Ekidokai 03-10-2010, 02:58 AM I have got Alex's Nightmare multi cache about 6.5 miles away That one is trouble right from the start.
