When I'm at the computer, I always have music playing. I recently got a new speaker system, and since the sound is great, music is what's on my mind right now.

So, I was wondering - are you listening to music when you're online? If so, what?

(I'm listening to Kraftwerk's "Minimum-Maximum" concert album, and specifically "The Man Machine".)

I listen to talk radio WVOM 103.9 FM., the scanner, Fox news on the T.V., and sometimes talking on the phone.

Radio-wise I spend a lot of time on WVOM as well, but that is usually while on the road.

Music-wise you'll never know what might be playing here. All our music is on a shared network drive and contains many styles of a music from the 1940's to the 2000's. We both like some of almost any genre of music (Excepting rap, but that's not really music). From Abba to Chubby Checker to Gordon Lightfoot to Jerry Reed to Reba to ZZ Top. Both Lee and I prefer music where you can understand what the singers are singing, however.

Other days I just play random funny and parody music on YouTube.

Sheesh! ABBA! One of my favorites. And I have several of Agnetha Falskog's albums, too. We almost got to sea ABBA in concert years ago in Brussels. But it was about the time that they were breaking up, and they canceled the concert...

And Gordon Lightfoot! I could almost recite the words to "Edmund Fitzgerald"! LOL!

I must have 500-600 phonograph record which I intend - someday - to convert to digital form I even have an ION USB phonograph player - but it does take time... And then there's my 300-CD player. I thought when I bought it that if it holds 300 CD's, it would last me forever.

Sheesh! Technology! :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Ha, My music collection has been primarily mp3 since they were invented. I had only about 20 commercially made CDs to my name when I met Lee. She, however, still had a decent collection of LPs as well as one 300 disk CD changer and one 200 disk CD changer! We took several weeks converting all those to mp3!

I used to be a constant listener of the AM620 to listen to Dale and Clem in the morning and Colin Cowherd at lunch time until Darlings performed some type of recall on the seat heater switch in my car and killed all AM reception. When I am in the car now it's mostly WVOM in the morning on the way to work even though I can't stand the two hosts. I've never been a fan of Rick Tyler and George Hale sounds like he's always talking with a bunch of dirt in his mouth. The problem is, they present a good bit of info making them worth listening to between 7 and 8. Other than that, I really enjoy my podcasts of Garrison Keillor doing his Prarie Home Companion shows. I guess I mostly enjoy the News from Lake Wobegon segment of the show. He's a very good story teller and I think his voice is the most enjoyable part.

If I'm out driving around (caching, going to work, picking up girls up from school) I'm almost always listening to podcasts. Geocaching podcasts (like Kacky's), NPR, a couple of political (Dan Carlin's is the best), poker, history. I'm kind of a podcast addict.

Does anyone listen to music while caching?

I had Hiram and Maniac serrenading me while we went "car shopping" yesterday . . . they were singing "Swing low Sweet Firefighter Jake" and singing some other 1960s vintage songs, just changing the lyrics a bit to add in the words "swing low" and "Firefighterjake" . . . does this count as listening to music?

And then I was singing the Three Best Friends song at another one of the caches. . . . :)

$1,983 to see American Idol (http://www.ticketron.us/ResultsTicket.aspx?evtid=1379461&event=American+Idols+Live).

Or, if you're really loaded, you could pay:

$18,798 for a ticket to today's Boston Celtics/LA Lakers game (http://www.ticketron.us/ResultsTicket.aspx?evtid=1311939&event=NBA+Finals%3a+Boston+Celtics+vs.+Los+Angeles +Lakers+-+Home+Game+3), and hear DJ Dan McCarthy (http://www.bostondj.com/news.htm) .

Typically for RULost2? and me, although we had seats in the "front/center" section, we were in the 2d to last row in the section. I just downloaded another ES Posthumus album - "Unearthed (http://www.amazon.com/Unearthed-S-Posthumus/dp/B000CAAON6/ref=sr_1_3?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1288653045&sr=1-3)", which is even better than "Makara". :D:D

Listening to this again tonight. Worth checking out if you're not familiar with it.

I'm not sure if I mentioned it previously, but I'm again listening to the soundtrack to "A Beautiful Mind (http://www.amazon.com/Beautiful-Original-Motion-Picture-Soundtrack/dp/B00006WL5I/ref=sr_1_2?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1294183123&sr=1-2)", which is fantastic. It features "Voice of an Angel" Charlotte Church. What a voice!

(Not sure why the prices for this are so high on Amazon - the prices are reasonable on eBay...)

Kraftwerk (http://www.amazon.com/Kraftwerk/e/B000AQ2MIM/ref=sr_ntt_srch_lnk_1?qid=1294874012&sr=1-1)! "Trans-Europe Express". When we lived in Belgium, the TEE was THE train to travel on. It stopped in Mons, near where we lived, and I rode it when I went to Munich, Germany in December 1979 for a school. Went to the Hofbrau House (http://www.hofbraeuhaus.de/en/index_en.html) every night. Now that was an experience...

It's a great movie, but the soundtrack by Andre Desplat (http://www.amazon.com/Girl-Pearl-Earring-Original-Picture/dp/B0001FVEU4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1295224588&sr=1-1) is worth having. :D:D

In the evenings, we usually listen to Internet Radio - Live 365 (http://www.live365.com/index.live)- but I got bored tonight and grabbed the nearest CD, which happened to be "Songs of Sanctuary" by Adiemus (http://www.adiemus.f2s.com/). Since there are 9 pages of comments in this thread, so I didn't check to see if I'd talked about this group before. But sheesh, this is good music...

I love Adiemus too :) I have Adiemus as background music on my high school prom (equivalent) video, that's how I found out about Adiemus.

If you don't have it yet, you've got to get spotify. It's absolutely everything I've ever wished for in a music app. Paid subscription or free version, it's both unlimited music. You listen to whatever album you want all the way through or just one song at a time. Now it's integrated with facebook so it's completely social. You can send songs to your friends who use spotify to check out with a note as to why that song made you think of them. They just recently added a radio feature much like pandora. It's fantastic. I can't say enough good things about the program.

Sheesh! Got my latest CD, and it is great. Hayley Westenra's "Paradiso" (http://www.hayleywestenra.com/), in which she sings songs to the music of Ennio Morricone (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ennio_Morricone), famous for the themes to such great spaghetti westerns as "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly", "Once Upon a Time in the West". etc.

Sheesh! It's been a while since anyone has posted in this thread. But I've gotta comment on this. I usually listen to Live365 (http://www.live365.com/index.live) Internet Radio in the evenings. And I admit, I like "new age" type music - have loved it since I first hear KraftWerk in the '70's.

And tonight, this Terry Riley (http://terryriley.net/) piece - A Rainbow in Curved Air (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=apxuRKWmEJs) - blows me away. I love it!!!
