darterkitfox found a pair of prescription sunglasses with the little bifocals in them at my cache "Which Way" just off of Deadwater Rd. Did anyone lose a pair out there caching?

Did anyone lose a pair out there caching? My stepmother, Togusfinder, lost a pair up there somewhere but I do not know if they are prescription or not. LaughingTerry 07-05-2010, 08:26 PM If they are you can get them from kitdarterfox. How cool would that be? Ekidokai 07-05-2010, 09:01 PM Very cool. hollora 07-05-2010, 09:16 PM We know they aren't yours Eki - but you are right - very cool. Thanks to DKF for picking them up. darterkitfox 07-06-2010, 05:27 AM It would have been better if I could have actually found that cache instead, but, they are green with brownish camo stripes, the main lens makes me see better, but the little bifocal part blurs everything up for me major. Perfect condition. I am on a work overnight to College of the Atlantic so won't be back to read posts for a couple days. togusfinder 07-06-2010, 07:13 AM They're not mine. I have lost three pairs of sunglasses while caching but they were just cheapies from Good Will or supermarkets. Now I remove before going into the woods. Hee hee. Thanks, Togusfinder Mapachi 07-06-2010, 08:54 AM They're not mine. I have lost three pairs of sunglasses while caching but they were just cheapies from Good Will or supermarkets. I put my GPSr down on stumps, rocks and things while I go thru a cache and sign the log. Sometimes I spend more time looking for my GPSr then I did for the cache. Especially when I get back to Yoda and Shotgun says to me..."Where's your GPS?" and I have to find my way back to the cache site to look for it !!!! I need one of those phone/GPS units. That way I can call my GPS so it will ring, or beep, or scream out "HEY IDIOT I'M OVER HERE!" Mapachi 07-06-2010, 08:57 AM Both my GPSr and cell phone are cammoed! JustPJ66 07-06-2010, 02:39 PM well in the event you are unable to find the true owner you might consider donating them to your local lions club. They can put them to good use for folks that cant afford glasses. That being said, I sure hope you CAN find their owner....those things are wicked expensive. darterkitfox 07-07-2010, 08:51 PM We seem to find a lot of glasses and usually take them to Hannaford. Maybe these just belong to the person that took the cache and left the beer can and beer bottle. Of course the cache is probably still there even though me and the cacher before me didn't find it. I will keep them for a few more days and then they are donated. Nothing sits around my house for long without a purpose. That's why my wife moves every two days. There could be another reason she moves every two days. parmachenee 07-10-2010, 09:33 AM Thanks Steve...we'll take credit for leaving the sunglasses behind but not the beer can and bottle.:D When we were there, we encountered many 4-wheelers traveling the roads so it's very likely it wasn't a geocacher. At least Charron didn't leave her gpsr behind! LaughingTerry 07-10-2010, 03:58 PM I checked on the cache and it has not been muggled. It is sitting there nice and safe. darterkitfox 07-14-2010, 06:33 PM Although I didn't put a tracking bug on it, I passed the sunglasses on at an event and hopefully it will make it back to the owners. It's not a geocoin so it might make it further. Mainiac1957 07-14-2010, 07:29 PM She came by and grabbed them this morning. ;) parmachenee 07-14-2010, 07:58 PM Charron has them and appreciates the effort in getting them back. Thanks Steve...no tracking required. But....she lost a pair in the Bangor City Forest...could you track them down? :D darterkitfox 07-14-2010, 10:12 PM As long as it's on the rail side of the forest, we still have that half to do and will come up for the next breakfast! I already had to come back up the day after the breakfast because I saw someone left a pathtag in the Hannaford cache and I had to get it. hollora 07-14-2010, 11:06 PM If the glasses belong to parmachenee - leave them somewhere I can retrieve them and I will do and get them back to them. Thomas Plaza (Thomas Tax and Jason's Pizza) on Rt 2 beyond Ramada, Hammond Lumber, Mr Paperback headed West on Rt2 - drop off at Thomas Tax and they should hold for me to pick up and deliver - let them know I said to hold and call me. Ekidokai 07-15-2010, 01:30 AM That's too funny. pm28570 07-15-2010, 08:24 AM I'm in Topsham today until 5 PM and tomorrow until I can sneak out . I can get them to Orrington fairly easily. Ekidokai 07-15-2010, 03:27 PM Although I didn't put a tracking bug on it, I passed the sunglasses on at an event and hopefully it will make it back to the owners. Mapachi 07-15-2010, 09:08 PM No, everyone saw it. They're just delivering the glasses incognito now! |
