Too bad it shows geocaching out of the end of a guardrail, not very enthralling but it may get some folks interested.
Oppps, here is a more direct link http://www.kjonline.com/community/Collecting-cache.html
EMSDanel 07-13-2010, 07:54 AM Positive advertising for the sport, but I'm still not sure I like showing everyone exactly where caches are hidden
JustPJ66 07-13-2010, 08:14 AM I am not 100% sure but I think that might be my GRC. There is a history to the site so i placed it there. http://http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=01a02276-d596-48cd-9451-e13cc5825199
If it is I was not contacted about the story or the picture. Wish I had been tho.
JustPJ66 07-13-2010, 08:15 AM evidently it didnt like the link sorry try this GC25FMX (http://www.geocachingmaine.org/forum/#)

Unfortunately you can't do much about what they show. I was told after explaining the adventure to Ch 5 that no identification would be used and the wording on the can would be blocked out. Then they showed everything.

JustPJ66 07-13-2010, 09:20 AM Thanks Ekidokai for the link...dont know why it didnt like me this morning! LOL
I did write to the gentleman who did the article and let him know he could come here or to myself if he had any questions about the hobby/sport or if he wanted to do a followup. Also hopefully explained a bit more about it to him and iam hopeful he will bite and comeback for more hehe
JustPJ66 07-13-2010, 11:57 AM I got a nice note from the Aunt and Uncle of the kids in the picture telling me that it was my cache in the article. Seem like really nice folks and they said they asked that the picture of the caches hiding place not be in the paper and so of course it was. LOL
I noticed there was now a comment on that article saying something about wanting the rest of the story...which one of you posted that LOL
Ekidokai 07-13-2010, 06:15 PM Me of course.
Mapachi 07-14-2010, 09:08 AM I saw the picture in the KJ and Shotgun said to me "Look they show where the cache is!" I replied "Do you think a Muggle would be able to figure which guardrail in Mount Vernon that is?"
As far as geocachers go....GPSr or picture? I think using the GPSr would be quicker.

....the muggle sees the sign and says, "Hey I saw that in a picture in the KJ and someone put a cryptic note in the comments section for the 'article' so now I wanna look in this guardrail....."

Exactly, they showed a picture and what? Is that a secret where are caches placed? They are all posted on the internet with coordinates if you haven't noticed yet LOL. What if muggle can find it using a picture? So? Muggles can find it using a GPS too.
We should prevent those Muggles where ever they are coming from from finding out caches! Cano for president, vote for me!
JustKev 07-14-2010, 09:22 AM Cano for president, vote for me!
That would make you, let's see, the second president with a birth certificate from outside the US?
:eek::mad::eek:

Mapachi 07-15-2010, 09:04 PM OK! OK! This post is getting out of hand.....I may say something I'll regret.
DAN, HELP SAVE ME FROM FOOT IN MOUTH! ..... My tongue is bleeding from biting it!
JustKev 07-15-2010, 11:29 PM Maybe I should have said the second president in recent years?
Maybe I should have said the second president in recent years?
And who was the first one? And don't forget to include his non US birth certificate :)
JustKev 07-16-2010, 10:54 AM Can you include his US Birth Certificate? Or, more importantly, can he?
:)

Sure it's on wikipedia if you are talking about Obama. But it doesn't matter. You said he HAS non US birth certificate. You wouldn't say it without seeing one right? So why don't you show us his non US birth certificate he has?
JustKev 07-16-2010, 12:50 PM I was just stirring the old pot about his birth certificate. I personally could care less, I didn't vote for him nor will I if he runs for re-election.
Ekidokai 07-16-2010, 08:00 PM If, your loco.
