Cache Gator 08-07-2010, 09:55 PM Well our trip to Maine is finally here and we will be heading up to Maddawaska next week from CT. We are goimg to travel route 1 on the way up and I was wondering if anyone had a route file I could up load to gc.com to make a PQ of caches along Route 1 from the NH border up to Maddawaska. I seach GC.com for routes but did not find any.

One would expect a road across the US to be a highway not some trail in woods :) Where is this?

IIRC, it is between Rt 9 and East Grand Lake. I am pretty sure it is on the old CCC Road. It was quite an oddity to see it in the middle of nowhere! of course years ago the CCC road was the highway of the back woods in that area.
Ekidokai 08-09-2010, 05:50 AM You know how those funny talking people are, they expect everything to be easy.
Wasn't long ago there was more dirt mileage than tar.
darterkitfox 08-09-2010, 06:17 AM I heard that with all the increased traffic, Stud Mill Road is on the books to get tarred. One third state taxes, one third stimulus money, one third Edidokai savings.
brdad 08-09-2010, 06:28 AM I think they should spend the money on tarring the guy that placed the caches on the SMR - tarred and feathered, that is! :D
Ekidokai 08-09-2010, 05:22 PM I totally agree. Everyone that has placed a cache in this area should be tarred and feathered. Bringing people out to these woods is just wrong.
