I will be having a first time ever cache event. I live on Campobello Island, New Brunswick, on the border with Maine. The waypoint number is GCNV3G (http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=673c9acc-273c-47cd-938c-ce1f4caaee36)

I've put this event on my watch list a while ago....now we're trying to find the time off from work to be there. Would love to attend! We'll try to make it, since we are down in Pembroke often. Not sure yet...

Sheesh! One of our favorite areas, and we probably won't be able to attend. We're returning from our Nova Scotia trip on July first, and RULOST2? will definitely not be able to get off work for that weekend - which would definitely need an overnight. We've camped in Eastport (Seaview Campground) many times, as well as on Deer Island, and surely wish we could attend. Can we stop by a week early? LOL! :D

Bummer, we won't be able to attend... we'll be in France at that time. We would have loved to camp out by the ocean, too. Maybe in 2006? :)

We really, really want to go to this event also. We are going to mark it on the calendar. But won't know for a while. The wife gets her work schedule one week in advance. This sounds really cool. We always wanted to see Roosevelt's place there.

Sheesh! For that matter, I could hook up the camper, leave RULOST2? at home, and we could have a "boys night out"!

wbdent I have been debating on weather I am going with or without the wife. I really want to go to this. She really wants to go too. I will know for sure by the end of the week. The company I work for shuts down for the week of the 4th. But I may be working that week with a skelitan crew. I will know for sure by the end of this week. If I end up having the week off I am going to have the wife take a vaction also and we will head up early. So we can do some caches before the event and sight see. I will let you know as soon as I know myself.

Yeah, I was kidding, too (sort of...). I'd hate to go to Campobello without RULOST2?. If I did that, she'd probably start getting ideas about going places without me! LOL!

Hey Dave. Are you guys plannign on attending this event. It looks like the wife is going to ask for the time off from work. So it looks like we are going. Maybe we could hook up in Bangor and follow each other to the event.

If any one is planning on staying at the Herring Cove Campground, http://www.campobello.com/herring.html, for the event, do you want me to make reservations for you? If so, how many sites, and electrical or non electrical?

wbdent I would like to have you make reservation but I have several questions first. There is a law that is on the books right now and I don't know if it has passed yet or not. It requires everyone going over the boarder to have passports. Do you know if that law has passed yet and do we need passports?

wbdent If we don't need passports then yes I would like you to make reservations for us. I know we will be there for Saturday night. We may try and come down a day early. So could we possible have the same place open for Friday in case we can get there a day earlier. I will not know for another week if we will be coming down early. But I don't want to not have a spot to camp.

wbdent Do we need to have to have our american money exchanged to canadian money head of time?

Rick - this hasn't gone into effect yet - and probably won't for travel to/from Canada. A US driver's license will get you back in.

Here's a lint to an informative site:

http://travel.state.gov/travel/cbpmc/cbpmc%5F2223.html

Since we're going to Canada next week, I'll ask about this when we come through the border crossing to see if there's anything new.

There was also an article in the paper this morning about trying to get a bill passed in the legislature so residents of Maine and Canada won't have to use the passport thing if it does get into law,to make it easier for both citizens of each country to travel to and from.

Stopped by customs this morning and they said you need a photo ID, like your drivers license, and you should have a copy of your birth certificate. They said the birth certificate isn't a must, but they might ask for it.

Not sure if everyone converted the time for my event or not. Its from 1pm ADT to 4pm ADT.. that would be 12pm EDT - 3pm EDT. Just thought I would let you know.
