Another one for my bucket list, ride in a helicopter. firefighterjake 03-24-2011, 09:31 AM 80 bux is a fairly decent deal to ride in a copter too. Another one for my bucket list, ride in a helicopter. Think I've been three times. Rode in the Maine Forest Service helicopter after taking the Forest Firefighting Course. Rode in a scenic helicopter flight and took photos of my Uncle's house. Rode from Girdwood, AK to a glacier and glacial lake . . . and then rafted down the glacial stream . . . that was the best ride of them all. JustKev 03-24-2011, 07:35 PM My father-in-law and I nearly did one of the tour flights near Orlando several years ago but it was real windy and we decided against it. Come to find out, helicopters do okay in wind unless it's extremely high. Should have gone ahead and done it. We lost him a few years ago to cancer. Another of those dreaded "shoulda done" moment. Mapachi 03-24-2011, 07:55 PM This would be a great way to get the Gulf Hagas cache that I've missed twice now! Where would a helicopter land? You'ed have to repel down a line! Sounds like fun!:D cachecrashers4 03-24-2011, 08:25 PM For $80, you get transported to a 5/5 cache! We also white water rafted, but not on the glacial runoff....magnificent scenery both days. |
