Mainiac1957 03-31-2011, 04:05 PM Like the new look. Still says test on the banner on the main page. Will events be back on the front page or in a new spot?

Thanks, let me get right on that.

Dave, that should be fixed now too. Thank you.
hollora 03-31-2011, 05:34 PM It looks nice Rick! Now to learn to navigate..........but it's nice, clean, & new. Thank you!
pm28570 04-01-2011, 06:42 AM It's all positive, Rick. Chat room looks awesome.
JustKev 04-01-2011, 08:09 AM I see the weather for Santa Monica, CA on the Home Page. While it's nice to know how they're fairing in sunny California, it's like rubbing salt in the wound while they're at 60 degrees and we're all white here.
Ekidokai 04-01-2011, 08:11 AM Yeah it's OK.
geoaware 04-01-2011, 08:47 AM Its great Rick!
Chat window should open in a new tab or better in the same window and let users decide where they want to open it.
UMainah 04-01-2011, 12:48 PM It's too bad chat had to switch to a special protocol. Means I can't access it from my smartphone.
UMainah 04-01-2011, 01:01 PM That brings up another thing. Could a Mobile Style be enabled for the forum? This is so that when the forum software detects that a mobile browser is accessing it, it automatically switch the style to a style optimized for smartphones.

I have corrected the problem. If it still does not work you will need to check your zip code in your profile because that is where it is pulling the info from. Go to your profile here www.geocachingmaine.org/forum/profile.php?do=editprofile

Yes there is a mobile style coming out soon but it requires me to pay a price of $199 if I purchase it within the next 12 months, and $99 annually after that.
The price will increase to $299 after the initial period.
I am not sure if getting it for the web site is justifiable based on the cost.

Nope, also you should validate your html code.

You need to go to your profile and enter you zip code as I mentioned previously.

Another question is why do you pay for this forum if there is plenty of free open source forums similar or better quality? Especially if you decided to update it.

Hint: Maybe you should check how it is displayed if you don't.
Ekidokai 04-01-2011, 04:00 PM Working just fine for us poor folk.

Hmm, I thought 4.1.2 shipped with the Mobile Style ability. All it is, is a lightweight theme. If it didn't come with it, then i'm sure someone out there has made a mobile skin.

I'm just curious if anyone has looked into free alternatives like phpBB, Simple Machines, Vanilla Forums, myBB, XMB, Viscacha, mwForum, FUD, etc? and there's entire free Content Management Systems out there like Drupal and whatnot
JustPJ66 04-05-2011, 06:35 AM Are there threads that were dropped in the move? I was looking for a thread and couldnt find it.. wondering if you "cleaned house" a bit when you switched over?
