Last night my boyfriend and i went out caching and he came home as my Fiance! He had placed a fake cache out in the woods of milton. Then he'd created a GPX file, unzipped it, edited it to add his fake cache, complete with description, past logs, a hint, and even a trail head marker to it, re-zipped it as a GPX file and sent it to me to load on my GPS. We headed out for a few caches and the last one we did was his cache named "woodsy". I made the find and inside was the most beautiful ring ever!! I had no idea at all that it was coming, I was just excited that I had made the find, as the 4 previous ones of the evening had all been ones he had found! Boy was I surprised when I opened up the cache container!!

Congratulations. I've heard of this happening before. It's always nice to hear that people use this creative way to propose to their loved one.

AWWWW- What a thoughful fiance' you have! Congratulations. You can make up geocaching coins to give out to your wedding guests and put the centerpieces in ammo cans... well...that might be pushing it...... Hope we see you on the trail sometime! You can flash that ring to us!

The next question is - is your wedding going to be a caching event?

Thanks Guys!! I am definitely super excited... hmm... a geocaching event... could be interesting ;) Would love to get to meet some of you!!
I must say though, the question of "how did he do it?!?!" with the response of "he put it in a geocache" has gotten me a lot of blank stares today at work! It's been fun trying to explain to people what it is!

Two years ago at our wedding reception we had a new cache published at the reception. It didn't hurt that Maine Publisher was in attendance. He published the cache and all the cachers at the wedding went streaming out to find it. Much to the bewilderment of the other guests. And yes we did get the first to find.;)

AAAAWWWW... Ain't love grand!

Pretty soon we won't be able to call you "The S-O". You'll have to change it to "The Boss" ...... LOL! Good luck to both of you!

Nice, very nice! Congrats to you both. When Di and I got married, we had our honeymoon at Maynard's in Maine in Rockwood and we did a pile of caches that week. Geocaching friend of our gave us 2 travel bugs, Mr and Mrs. Quack Quack TB's, both that are still traveling!
