One of the several databases I have in GSAK is a database of "bucket list" caches. This database contains caches which are just outside my normal caching radius or abilities. The largest percentage of the caches in this database are U.S. caches placed in 2001; the remainder is mostly comprised of (hopefully) cool caches I have had recommended to me by other cachers and a few others I have stumbled across in searches as well as high-popularity caches like Groundspeak headquarters. I also keep a bookmark list that mirrors this database so I can request a PQ to update the entire database when needed.

Do you keep a bucket list of caches? Have you found any caches on such a list you would recommend to others? Have you found a cache outside of the typical Maine cacher's range you would recommend?

Just this weekend Lee and I had the opportunity to do a cache that had only been on our bucket list a few weeks, recommended by a cacher I originally met in national chat. It is an urban cache In Needham, Mass, out behind some houses on land I am guessing is owned by the cache owner. He has put a lot of work into the trails as well as the cache and much more. It is a short walk on relatively level terrain. If you want to be totally surprised, do not read the logs or look at the pictures. The hint does help you find where to park and start your journey, however. If you let the cache owner know when you'll be there and the timing is right, there is an added bonus. A great cache for kids young and old.

I don't have a list started yet, but I guess it's something that I'll start working on. The first one that I'll put on is GC1E3P7. I heard about this one when Team Moxiepup found it a couple of weeks back. It's listed as a 5/5 but doesn't look that difficult (at least to me, that is).

I am sure that there are too many great caches out there to include in one list, and I will probably never even hear about many of them, much less actually find them, but this is one that has been preying on my imagination since I first read about it two years ago. GC17MX1. I hope to find it someday.

That is a cool one, I know a few people who have done it.

I also remember someone who used to be a regular in the national chat and also a NY police officer, on a few occasions he took people out to do the central park caches at night!

I did this one yesterday and take my word that it is worth the trip. This does give you the most westerly cache in the continental United States. If you're into that sort of thing.:cool:

And for the record. Barry and I were only the 66th and 67th finders and it has been there since 2003.

We found two worthy caches while attending he block party event in NH.

One is a very urban, very residential cache, which I generally do not care to do. But this one has been mentioned to me several times in the past and has been on my bucket list for a while. A lot of work went into this cache, urban caches do not have to be lame!

The second is in the park where the event was held. I was not aware of it so it was never on my bucket list but it is a worthy cache in a great park (There are 7 other good caches there as well). This is one of the coolest jobs I have ever seen on a cache container.

Those last two I have in another database named "Notable Caches". I put caches in there that'd be neat to find, but most likely would never even considering attempting.

We did the Necropolis of Britannai Manor III and the final was definitely pretty cool!!
