I just wanted to know if there are any webcam caches in Maine. I haven't seen one on gc.com. If not, I think that it's about time that we get one. Perhaps I'll look into it.

RULOST2? and I have tried to grab several, but none of the locations are a wireless hotspot, and require one of us to be at a "fixed" location (which was too awkward). We did find a webcam cache at the Computer Center at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia which had UMPTEEN wireless nodes, though ALL of them were secure or required some other registration to log on. Sheesh! What's a "wardriver" to do these days? :o :o :o WhereRWe? 07-16-2005, 07:27 AM Which reminds me - I know that there are SEVERAL publically viewable webcams in Maine. Is there any reson why someone could not use one of these as a webcam cache? Do you have to control the webcam to be able to capture images from it?  J_Cyr 07-16-2005, 08:28 AM Yes, Blevesque posted the one in PI. I still haven't done it because the day I tried to, I was going to call a friend that was going to be on his computer, but he was out Geocaching with Blevesque! Team2hunt 07-16-2005, 08:56 PM There is a webcam in Dublin N.H. " Yankee Ingenuity Webcam " GCMYKV It takes pictures on the hour every hour. All you have to do is be there on the hour. The website saves the pictures for that day. Return home scan the pictures and save to your computer. Web Caming done solo. blevesque 07-16-2005, 10:17 PM Everyone beat me to posting that I have on in Presque Isle!!! Oh well, there's one in Presque Isle  so anyone coming up for the BBQ in Sept, be sure to check it out, you'll be driving right by it! Cache'n Jacksons 07-17-2005, 07:48 AM There is an easy way to do most webcam caches without requiring a second person, cellphones or a hotspot. Webcam Watcher (http://www.webcam-watcher.com) will monitor up to 20 webcams and can be set to record images to your hard drive every X minutes or when a Y% change is noticed in the image. Install it on your computer at home and leave it run while you are away, then review the captured images when you return. So easy it's almost cheating! :o WhereRWe? 07-17-2005, 12:24 PM There is an easy way to do most webcam caches without requiring a second person, cellphones or a hotspot.
