Nike site, located right next to the "Northern Maine Sunset Travel Bug Hotel".

We went to this site and walked around in it. I found it interesting. I took a bunch pictures but the camera malfunctioned on some of the pictures so I posted what I was able to salvage of the pictures I took.

Cool pictures. I did the cache, but didn't go inside. Pretty neat, I will have to check it out.

Yes it was really cool. But from what we have figured out was that this was not the missle site but the radar site for the missle site. Now it would be nice to fine the missle site. There seems to have been missle sitesin Limestone. Caswell, Loring and Caribou.

There seems to have been missle sitesin Limestone. Caswell, Loring and Caribou. I've talked to a local historian about these sites a while ago and he did say the Conner Nike Site was a missle site and had missles in the woods. There is also an underground tunnel that goes from that site to Loring! (or there used to be???) I really need to go out there and explore! There is a missle site in Perham too in addition to the other sites...

That would be wicked cool if you could find the missle site in the woods. Finding the underground tunnel would be even cooler. I would have to think about making a special trip up there just for that and the other one you mentioned if you found it this year. I love exploring things like that.

I've been to a Nike missile site somewhere up in the County . . . if you asked me to find it today though I wouldn't know where it is. Pretty cool . . . although very decrepid. You can see where they used to bring the missiles out on rails though. Today the site has been tagged by a lot of vandals and appears to be a party place, but it's pretty neat to see the history. If memory serves me correctly the one site I saw was down a broken tar road that passed through a farmer's field. Went to it via ATVs.

Your thinking of the one in Perham.
All the grafitti and how you gan go up on the roof and everything, but watch where you walk... Yes.
Been there a few times. You drive through a feild, where the road goes from a dirt road, to tar, trees on both sides, then the opening for the Nike missile site.

Ah it all makes sense now . . . that "J Cyr was here" and "For a good time call . . ." grafitti that I saw there! :)

In all seriousness, yeah, that must have been it since you described it to a T.
