A million thanks go out to all who took part in the mintage of our new coin. The ordering site looks great and I can't wait for the event in December to pick up the coins. They will make excellent X-mas presents so order plenty of them. I am ordering 20 of them and those that can afford them should order as many as they can. They also make great trading items for other state coins as well. Kudos to all.:D

This has been a long time coming, and I think that Cameoooooo and Sudonim have done a great job.

So I sense a "beer & wings event" in December? LOL!

Sheesh, Anne! If you'd ordered them for pick up at the "Beer and Cookies" event in December, you'd have saved enough to get 5 instead of 4! LOL!

 Wondering why the Maine geocoins, which I love, won't be trackable on gc.com...isn't that the whole point (or much of it)?

I think it was a pricing/value and logistics issue.

Coins, especially ones as desirable as Maine, will not last long out in the wild. So paying for tracking is only a value to those that want to release the coin into caches. A lot of people are collecting them or using them as signature/special trade items.

Adding tracking to a coin is complicated because there are so many options; logging at GC.com is only one! If we want the next coin to have tracking, someone will need to present alternatives and then (somehow :) ) we will have to pick one!

You can still track them on GC.com if you want by buying a TB tag and affixing it to the coin.

Good idea, TAT! I think I will do exactly that (for one of my 10)!

Ohhhhhhh - we were hoping you'd volunteer to coordinate the tracking aspect for the next round of coins ;)

We're more than half-way through the order period (just 10 days left) and I'm wondering how many have been ordered... and if there are any more details on the distribution event?

Thanks for all the effort here!

Having talked with Sudonim Wednesday night in chat he stated that he had orders for over 1300 so far. So everyone who hasn't ordered theirs must do so before the 14th. He also stated that hopefully if everything goes as planned it looks like the 10th of December will be an event for the distribution of the coins but all the details still have to be worked out.

Thanks for the update. I guess 1000 was not so optimistic after all. I, for one, am looking forward to having one in my hot little fist :p

I don't remember if this was addressed previously: is this coin a one-time deal or will there be a reorder in the future?

I ordered the coins last night. I don't plan on a re-order, but if there is high demand (over 100 coins) I can get a secondary order. (And Yeehawma, I got your order in too:p )

I just noticed the updated note on the front page. Are you still planning on having a coin distribution event?

Gotta have an event! We missed November! :D :D :D

Yup, there will be an event in Brewer on Dec. 10th. (As soon as I think up a clever name and post it that is...)

Speaking of coins...

While caching in New Brunswick last month, I found Canadian SILVER dollars in 2 caches. I thought that was cool. Gave them both to collectors...
