Winter cachin, fun yet sometimes hard. I think cache's should let us know if thier cache is winter-findable. Hence if they are inside or protected, up high, etc. I like to do caches year round but I don't know which ones I am able to do if they are buried on the ice on the ground or what not. It's 1:15am, have to be up in 4 hours, hmm...

Laughing Terry and I are planning on placing a bunch of winter cahes this year together. I will make sure that he or I put it in the description that it is winter accesable(sp).

LOL very true! Thanks for the input.

Girlmate and I started caching in Dec. and found over seventy through the winter. It didn't matter what the web page said. We tried some and failed and decided to be back in the spring. I think it is much more fun to cache in the winter. It make the geosticks much less helpful when you cant find them.

Yep... dosen't amaze me really. Actually places like Fort Kent does get more then us, but Fort Kent is a town and towns are not in this "top 10" just like alot of other towns in the northern US.

Man I love the County . . . early snowmobile riding, sweet ATV trails and the friendliest people around . . . not to mention a bunch of caches located there . . . and let's not forget about the poutine!

What are you talking about early snowmobile riding? I have been riding in western Maine for the last couple of years before the county even had enough snow to ride on.

Not the entire County, but the "Crown" often seems to get enough snow to ride on before most of Maine . . . with the possible exception maybe of some parts in the higher elevations of Western Maine. Incidentally Rick, did you see that some folks at the Sledmaine.com site have already put some miles on their sleds this year from that snowstorm in late-October?!

I know someone up here that has 28 miles on thier 06 Fusion 900. We got one storm and he went on the track.

No I have not started going to the SledMaine site on a regular basis yet. I will wait until we get some real snow. What I mean by that is snow that is going to stick around. Those that took there sleds on in the October storm are the ones that have no respect for there sleds. I will not take my sled out until there is enough snow to cover the stumps and rocks that you can drive over and not have to worry about them.
