Phase 2, that recently opened brings the count to 144 hides, http://www.goldtrail.com/findcache.cfm The book PDF, http://goldtrail.com/Site%20Pages/E%...ld%20Guide.pdf looks pretty interesting. I've asked for the books as a gift for summer reading to start the research.

Would anyone be interested in planning this with us as a group trip for August 2016? We've been looking into taking the train across Canada to make it to the August HQ Block Party in WA but we've also considered renting an RV and splitting the cost among those crazy enough to do this run. Reed2ME has been on numerous road trips so planning a route is easy for Mama. Let us know your thoughts!

My "Frankinfoot" is acting up and my doctor has put it in a walking cast. AGAIN!
I can walk around a bit, but only on even ground. Since it's my right foot, I can't drive! Shotgun hauls my butt around now.
I have 13 days left on the "A cache every day of the year" challenge, from today until June 28th.
I,m here to plead for my fellow, local Geocachers to place some easy terrain caches in the Waterville/Winslow, Augusta/Gardiner areas. Several days Shotgun will have to take me out geocaching after she gets home from work and she doesn't feel like driving to Lewiston, Portland or Bangor to find a cache I can access.
Help ole' Mapachi out, folks! There are still some guard rails out there with no caches in them!

I am in the process of logging finds I have had in a database going back about two years. I noticed along the way that I had logged a cache twice somewhere. I knew it was possible to easily find it in GSAK but could not figure out how to do it. So I asked the expert, BrDad.

************************************************** ****************************************

I have a question. Apparently I have logged a cache twice. How do I find out which one?

Easiest way is in GSAK.

Update a database of your finds with the "Myfinds" PQ.

Set a filter in GSAK:
Search - Filter - click the "Logs" tab.
Set Required Count to "Greater than or equal to" - 2
Deselect Select All for Log Types
Select Found It under Log Types.
Click Go
Any caches listed have 2 or more found logs.

This is a picture of what the filter dialog should be set to:
Currently it's in two pieces. I could weld it back together, but it will be harder to transport, will no longer fit through a regular doorway, and it would need more than two people to move.
Over the past couple of weeks, I have been working with a professor on developing a short documentary about female geocachers. We're looking to illustrate how geocaching is able to fit into the lives of women who participate in the activity, from stay at home moms to women with executive positions, we hope to have a spectrum. If you would be willing to share your stories and possibly participate in the documentary, please contact me at une.alh@gmail.com.

Hello neighbors!

For those who haven’t heard, we’re having a Mega event!!

Maritime Mega II – Caching the Capital (GC3QME4) will be held in Fredericton, New Brunswick on Saturday, July 20th, 2013. It is the first Mega Event held in New Brunswick and we, the MM2 Organizing Committee, are very excited to be hosting and bringing you to our wonderful caching city.

We will be having satellite events starting Thursday, July 18th so you may want to plan ahead and come early. Try your hand at Funky Bowling, take a kayak or canoe trip down the St. John River, spend the morning at Clay Café painting your own artwork or have a blast lazily tubing down the Nashwaak River. We’ll be having a complimentary BBQ (donations will be accepted for the Community Kitchen) and a free concert in Officers’ Square….lots to do and see before the big day, not to mention the tons of caches to find!

The most important thing to remember is that you need to pre-register by May 20th to secure your personalized nametag and lanyard, event bracelet, swag bag, event geocoin and t-shirt. By pre-registering you may also purchase the boxed lunch and/or buffet supper we will have on-site at the event and attend all the workshops and games. While you may attend the event for free, why miss out on all the goodies, fun and prizes?

Visit our website, www.maritimemega.com for more information on events, schedules, news updates, accommodations and things to do. Visit our store to purchase pre-registrations, event coins and t-shirts or meals.

We’re only an hour away from the border at Houlton and an hour and a little bit from Calais so grab your passports, GPSrs, geo-bags and buddies and come enjoy our maritime hospitality!

If you like challenges for coins, we have a couple for you. The Fredericton Geocaching Tour consists of 30 caches that will take you all over the city of Fredericton. Find 10 of them, get a wooden nickel, find 20 of them, get a Pathtag, find all 30 and get the wooden nickel, the Pathtag and a beautiful, locally produced, trackable, pewter geocoin. The FGT can be done in one day but you will be going non-stop from morning to night. It’s much more fun to take 2 or 3 days to do it. Check here http://www.tourismfredericton.ca/en/...Geocaching.asp for the City’s information on the FGT and to get your passport and get the Bookmark of the FGT caches here http://www.tourismfredericton.ca/en/...Geocaching.asp.

The March of NB 104th is a series of caches that follows the route taken, by foot, of the 104th Regiment from Fredericton to Kingston, Ontario during the War of 1812. More than 30 caches have been placed in New Brunswick, along the St. John River, following their route. Find 15 or more of them and you will receive a trackable geocoin to commemorate their feat, and yours! Click here for information on the March of NB 104th http://www.frederictonregionmuseum.com/content/253350 and find the Bookmark for the caches here http://www.geocaching.com/bookmarks/...d-57867ad3dc35.

As you can see, we have plenty for you to do. Come visit us, stay a while, cache a while and enjoy Maritime Mega II – Caching the Capital.

We hope to see you in Freddy in July! :)
