Maine's first cache?

I have two questions and was wondewring if anyone knew the answer to them. This is not a test and I do not know the answers. I am just curious.

1. When was the first geocache placed in the state of Maine?

2. What is the oldest active cache in the state of Maine?

Just go to the last cache that is placed on the cache pages and you'll see that it was the Fort Williams Cache placed Jan 2 2001 and it is still active.
