Hey I was there.

It was my second cache and I did it on an Easter Sunday while visiting the family in Oakland.

I don't remember any plaques along the way either. I guess I was too intent on looking for the cache.

Don't feel alone, I've been up there many times as I used to live in Oakland and I have yet to see where those plaques are. Are you sure that is the correct photo for that cache Dave?

Yah they are at the top on the big rock slabs that make for good seating to stop and catch your breath.

Jake's picture is really neat - does that photo have anything to do with the cache named Teepee Treasures? That cache is about ready to be archived if it's the one.

Haffy is correct . . . I'm sorry to see Teepee Treasurers archived. While the cache itself wasn't anything special the trip in rewarded the cacher with a nice view of Waterville's cityscape . . . when I did it one early evening it presented a nice view of the lights.

You need to work your way further south and head to the coast for this one.

That would be the one . . . it's the Wabanaki replica village set up there that you see on your way to the first stage of this two stage cache.

Wow, that was just a guess because that wasn't there the first time that I was there ,in fact I was FTF on that one and was totally surprised as I wasn't trying to be FTF. I thought the area kind of looked familiar. The day I was there up by the farmstead they were putting on a dory building seminar.

I'm hoping someone else will guess as well but there seems to be a limited number of people playing and it's fun just letting others see where we have an abundance of places to hide caches without resorting to the urban LPC....

I guess we are southern coastal but I don't know it. I'm enjoying the pictures posted and to see where people guess. So, someone answer and then try for a different part of the state. Maybe someone with less finds or someone new might start to play. I'll keep checking;)

I too am enjoying the pictures….I hope to get to some of these caches…
From what I’ve seen so far…of the pics posted in this forum it appears that there are a lot of quality caches in Maine that bring you to some great places w/o all the tourists.

The picture with the red Adirondack chairs makes me want to sit in one of the chairs with a margarita on a warm August day.;)
And the picture of the stone wall that Beckett posted.....that looks like it would be a fun one to do in the fall walking along that stone wall shuffling leaves

Ahhhh…Maine……the way life should be

Geocaching has made me so much more appreciate and aware of all the beauty things mother nature gives to us to enjoy even if just in pictures.
The mountains, the lakes, the ocean.......its all good.
Its all beautiful and its New England!

I have lots of places I would recommend going to in VT. I can't even think there are so many... VT is awesome too.
Everytime I visit a new mountain or a new place I always say to myself "this is the most beautiful place I've been to yet..."

I guess I can see beauty in just about everything..including the city and city skyline. (Ok..put the guns down now...;) )

No really ...even the city has its own charisma.. there is something out there for everybody.

One of my favorite caches I did was W A Y over in Western VT. The view was awesome....when I think of it I'll post the link....

I visited it in April of 2004

This one is worth going to if you are near Lake Champlain.
I revisited it in June w/ Rusty O junk. See his pictures

Actually Tom, I think the trail is off to the left of the picture somewhat...

I can tell you that even in August, the swim to that island is cold, and sitting on the island shivering all you can think of is that you have to get back in to the water to get back!!!
