Someone PM'd me, wondering why nobody had posted anything in the forums for the last 24 hours. I didn't have an answer to that question, but I do have an answer to the question "What's RULost2? drinking tonight?"
Carlsberg Elephant. (Click on "menu", then "Carlsberg Elephant").
I just found Latitude 48 by Sam Adams!
I guess I'm not a conniseur (sp). I have Miller High Life in the fridge.
(Follow the links - it took me a while to get them right)
Once there was a company in Australia that made rum. They produced a commercial, which upset the animal rights activists.
So the rum company produced another commercial as a response.
So cool!
(Also see the third commercial, which is a parody of the "showdown" sequence from the movie "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly".)
Gotta love the Aussie ads

Sheesh! That's great! I love advertisements with imagination. (I'll watch the GEICO commercial with the pig going "WEEEE, WEEEE, WEEEE" a million times!) LOL!
(But did you watch some of the other Carlton draft ads? Sheesh!)
Here's another funny Australian ad that I like.
did you guys see the discovery or travel channel show about swimming pools....they showed one filled with beer in europe....thought of you guys when they showed it!!
so don't forget a great present for your favorite beer drinker! :D:D
A friend of Jim and Paula's is joining us here in New Hamster for dinner today. He's bringing a high test pumpking ale. Sheesh, Bloody's, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, martinis, pumpkin ale.....so many fine choices, such a bad combination! What would pick? :)
I'm having Dogfish Head Brewery's "60 Minute India Pale Ale". I could drink this VERY often (if I could find it...) :D:D
(They also have a Pumpkin Ale, but that just doesn't sound good to me...)
Sheesh! Tried the 90 minute? I've just discovered the 60 minute - and it sure wasn't in Solon! LOL!
I'm heading back to Portland tomorrow - I remember seeing it there when I was there earlier in the week - so I'll probably have some tomorrow night.
I also tried some Sam Adams "Latitude 48 IPA", but was disappointed. After all - it was all about hops, but you can barely taste the hops.:confused:
I enjoyed the latitude 48 but I do agree that the taste was a little lacking. If you like the Dogfish 60 i think you really will enjoy the 90 minute!
Does anyone have the 1981 Budweiser Holiday Stein that they would be willing to part with for a reasonable price? It is called "Snowy Woodlands" and is the only one missing in our collection. My dad gave Pete a Bud stein for Christmas when we were dating in 1983 and we have every year since then. We were able to purchase 1980 and 1982 but have not been successful in locating 1981.
Yes - eBay has quite a few...
It's the way eBay works.
Say the bidding starts at $5, with a $5 bidding increment. The maximum you want to pay is $50. So you bid $50, but the actual bid shows up at $5, the starting bid.
Another guy comes along and bids $10. But you've already bid higher with your maximum bid, so the actual bid (in your favor) shows up at $15. This keeps up until you win the bid, or someone bids more than your $50 maximum.
Yes, you keep seeing the same name over and over again, but that is because he's bidding against someone else. Perfectly normal (and I hope you were able to follow this description).
I've been an eBay member since 1996, and have a feedback rating of 468, so I've done a few transactions! LOL! Much of my Christmas shopping will be on eBay. :D:D
Well written, WhereRWe?. We've done a number of transactions on eBay as well. Both as a seller and a buyer. You can get good deals there and you can also run into some people who are less than honest. You have avenues on eBay to protect yourself.
I have a hard time staying up that late. The bids I've been involved in go until almost midnight EST. I'll keep trying :)
Congrats on your saffron. Can't say I'm very familiar with it other than i think it is a spice and I think it is yellowish/orangish in color
Saffron. We like to add a pinch to rice. Gives it a great golden color and a wonderful flavor. :D:D
Tonight I'm finishing off the Harpoon UFO - Unfiltered Offering - India Pale Ale.
Nice. But then, Harpoon is on the top of my list of favorites. :D:D
Go Here...
From the reviews, I think my favorite would be Santa's Private Reserve.
:D:D
Had this holiday brew in my stocking last year, proof that my wife does love me :D
Lump of Coal
You can buy saffron rice in any grocery store, right here in the good old USofA, keeping our $$$ in this country and State. It's usually in the soup isle , It is yellow and has a nice rich flavor. I make it with Liguica and peas. The colors and the flavors compliment each other nicely.
I note neither saffron or rice are grown in Maine, and although you can also buy spaghetti in a can, I prefer to make my own from scratch. LOL! You can usually buy saffron itself in nearly any grocery store, but if you prefer to use packaged mixes, go for it. :D:D
Speaking of "keeping our $$$ in this country and State", did you know that Hannaford is owned by a Belgian company - Delhaize? And Shaw's is owned by a company based in Minnesota. :p:p
Woo, Thank Goodness they pay their Maine Employees in USD.
And if someone likes to eat Saffron rice alot or Use it in their cooking, They definatly should buy the spice. Didn't know they sold it in Hannaford, Cool!!! I figure , one could get it in the Mall.
I do like Hannaford, Shaws is a little to expensive for me and you don't need a discount card at Hannaford. And Hannaford is closer to where I live. I hope I save a little gasoline, which hopefully helps in the long run to.
But before too long Walmart will run the "store" world .
Speaking of beer, Do you watch the Dogfish( I think That's the name) Brewery show. It was on last night. They went to egypt to get yeast spores from the air.MMMmmmmmmm
Spores!
