I'm not exactly sure when this web site started - after the Yahoo Groups forum I know - but I see that ATTROLL, the webmaster, joined on Jun 19, 2004, so that's as good as a birthday for me!
Seems like we've come a long way in the last year - several events, a lot of caches under our belts, and meetign a lot of new friends.
I expect that Geocachingmaine will just keep getting bigger and better.

And thanks to all those who post and to ATTroll for all the hard work maintaining this site. When we started in April, we read the "Geocaching for Dummies" book and picked up a lot of what we thought was good info. Then we found this site and corrected most of what we thought we had learned.:D Reading past posts has made us more productive in our hunts and a bit wiser on the how/why/whats. We hit 50 caches this past weekend and have enjoyed just about every step. Our poor summer company is going to get dragged into a lot of unusual places this summer and had better get used to the smell of Deet.

Hurray and Happy Birthday to GEOCACHINGMAINE.ORG. I think I was #3 on the members list after ATTroll and Tink. correct me if I am wrong Rick. Just wanted to say thanks for all the hard work Rick,keep it up. We have grown by leaps and bounds this past year and it has been a privilege to meet and make new friends through this great site and I hope to be meeting many more. i was a late-comer. i didn't find out about this site for a long time, but since i joined, i have met many wonderful people - and even gotten to cache with some of them. so, attroll, thank you veryveryvery much!
