Welcome to the addiction!
Eastern Mountain Sports is having a 20% off sale this weekend. This is by no means a plug. But they carry a large selection of GPS'r units. Purchase as inexpensively as you can. The kids may only be interested for a few finds. Then you can go out and find Hacker's Hill. A wonderful cache right around the corner from where I grew up. Welcome to the addiction. :)
It's possible to find a few of the Casco caches without a GPS'r. Read the page and look at the maps. There are several easy kid-friendly finds. Good luck! You never know what you'll find while out caching. :D
Welcome - I was down your way a few weekends ago to the event held at a local campground in your area. I came from the Bangor area through Rangley to get to Sebago so if you want to cache in an area - you can do it. Actually if you are campers that opens a world of options with geocaching. There is already being planned an event in Eustis for next September over a weekend. There are other nice camping events over the year - keep watching the cache pages.
Last - if you have questions - ask. Again - welcome aboard!
Welcome to geocaching. It has been a wonderful experience for me. I have met many great friends through caching. I run a kid-friendly, family-friendly event towards the end of January. There is a playground, sliding hill and lots of things for kids to do at this event. Keep your eyes open for it. So far I know it's to celebrate 2007 and it's at Windsor Elementary school.
I like Celebrate I'm Sitting - so it should be Celebrate I'm Sitting 2007 - what could be better than that?
