    Default Caching "Out and About"

RULOST2? and I just got back from a 3-day Vermont geocaching trip and really found some good ones. (And found 6 inches of snow in some areas!) Yeah, and we found some some bad ones, too (spent 45 minutes looking for one before we gave up, then logged onto the cache site when we got back to the motel to find that the owner had "disabled" it 2 days after we downloaded the Vermont data to our laptop/PDA/GPS. THE CACHE WASN'T THERE! And then there was the cache that was rated 1.5/1.5, and was accessible only by mountain goats - after a .6 mile hike.

But one of the most interesting was this one, which you should bookmark if you think you'll be in Vermont anytime soon:

    Sounds like a fun time!

And to think I drove all the way to Boston and back today and didn't have time to look for one cache

One nice thing about paperless caching, and having the GPS connected to the PDA in the car (with a mapping program), is that you can see a cache coming up on the route, check the particulars for the cache, and decide whether it can be a quick find. We found 2 caches like this on our trip - just pull over and log it! It is especially great for virtuals, which often tend to be monuments or similar locations along the way.

I'll bet you passed 2-3 EASY caches, BRDAD! LOL!
