    Default Geocaching Advice

A buddy of mine is looking to buy a GPSr for his brother and has asked for my help . . . and me, being me, figured I would make it easy on me and solicit some opinions on makes and models that might be useful for him.

    Here's the criteria that he's looking at . . .

    -- color screen
-- map screen (he will need to get a topo map eventually)
    -- affordable

His brother says he doesn't need a lot of the gee-whiz features since his brother primarily will use this for ATVing.

My first few thoughts on makes/models was The Etrex Legend CX and the Explorist 500.

What does he mean by "affordable"?

I'm not a Magellan user so I can't comment on that but I am sure the Legend Cx would be a good choice if he doesn't want to spend over $300. And yes what is he wanting to spend? With the $50 rebate on the 60csx it can be had for under $300 in some places right now. You can figure almost another $100 for either Topo or Navigator maps for it as well too.

I think he was thinking of spending between $200-$300.
