GC numbers

Does anyone know what the plans are for the waypoint numbers?
They started with GC and then a 4-digit number. After they were all used up, they switched to a 4-digit alphanumeric after the GC.
I noticed that hollora's "Birds Eye U" cache is GCZKAZ, not much room left in this format either. Are they going to a 5 digit number, or changing GC to GD??? I couldn't find anything on the GC.com about it.

I think they are going to go to a 5 digit number after the GC. I'm predicting Dec. 27th they will be instituting the 5 digits. Any other predictions?

Man, I was just curious, the people on that thread are FIXATED!!! There is one guy with updates every 2-3 days, that would just cut into caching time for me

Yeah, can you imagine sitting around submitting empty caches just to try and nab GCZZZZ. That is crazy! TEHO
