Talking 1000 Maine finds for me

I completed the Acadia National Park EarthCache Program with Dave and Girlmate today. As it turned out it became my 1000 Maine find. Wow, considering when I started there weren't 1000 hides in the state. With out a doubt that Maine sure does offer an amazing variety of caches to find. There are just so many now, it won't take nearly as long and I'll be at 2000!
    Happy Trails!

Very cool, congrats! I am not far behind you! 18 to go!

As far as there not being 1000 caches in the state when you joined, you are right, but 1000 isn't even close. According to my stats, there had only been 343 caches approved in Maine by July 06, 2003. 40 of those had already been archived, so there were only 303 available caches the day you joined (give or take some error).

Congrats on the Earthcache program too, Lee and I were talking about that yesterday as we attended a wedding in Bar Harbor while everyone else was out caching. Worst part was, neither of us brought any caching stuff, and we would have had time to grab a few easier ones on the way home.

Way to go Brad. Anyone with that many Maine caches has really covered the state. If you hurry you might get the other thousand or so done before any new ones come up!
