Thumbs up The Tour of New England cache

Those of you who attended the BBQ cache event put on by Geochicks in Augusta this past summer may remember a fellow who went by the name of RedSox2k4. His name is Mike Mavrofrides and he started a thread this fall about starting a monster Tour of New England cache. He is hoping to get maybe 100 people from throughout the New England states to put out a cache that will be included in a monster cache. Sounds like a pretty daunting experiment but I gave him a buzz about it the other day and he is getting quite a response. I offered my zip code to put out a cache in my area and he said he is looking for someone in northern Maine to be included in the cache. Give him a buzz if you would like to join in. His thread can be found in the Groundspeak forums in the New England thread if you are interested, and he is a member of this website as well.

The statistics on sanity are that one out of every four persons is
suffering from some sort of mental illness. Think of your three best
friends -- if they're okay, then it's you.

Sheesh! If he's planning on 100 caches in New England, he'd better have a lot more than 2 in Maine! LOL!

(Yeah - I know he will - but I'd have thought he's be looking for 2-3 caches in Northern Maine...)

Default He's looking for more in Maine

So let's go and give him more instead of complaining about the lack of them then.

    Post Up North

My parents have placed some up north. Check out MADTED's profile for locations.

    Post What?

Okay, I'm confused about this. Are these "100" going to be new caches, or just links to ones that already exist?

I'm not sure I get how this works either. It appears that there would be numerous new caches placed in connection with this tour, but does that mean that you would have to visit each of the caches to count the whole tour as a find? Or each cache would be a find with an ultimate goal of just trying to find all in the tour?

    Default Tour of New England

I think maybe the best thing to do is to check out his initial thread on the New England forums of Groundspeak. Maybe that will kind of set everything straight, sorry for the confusion. Next time I'll just keep these things to my self.
