Default There isn't a Geocache There, but...

My younger son is deployed with the US Navy as a photographer/videographer with the Africa Partnership Station. There isn't a geocache there, but he is expected to pass coordinates S 00 000.000 E 000 000.000. Wish he had a GPSr with him so he could take a picture of the coordinates, at least! LOL!

And he will also be in E/W 0-180 simultaneously! I've never been everywhere east and west at the same time.

I expect to hear from him anytime now - he's in the area. Crossing the equator is a big deal in the Navy, but crossing the equator at the prime meridian is a REALLY big deal, and most ship captains try not to miss it.

Ooops! The Equator, not the south pole!! Good thing I'm not navigating.

Actually, there is a geocache nearby - the TB Graveyard! LOL! Although it's disabled, I guess you could actually log it if you provided a photo of your GPSr at the point...

I had a math teacher that was in the navy, and when they would cross the equator they would take a bucket, put a hole in the bottom, fill it with water, and let it drain as they cross. and the whirllypool would be going clockwise, stall, then it would start again counterclockwise. (I wonder if they have to refrain from going to the bathroom during such times so they can avoid overflows...)
Once the game is over, the king and the pawn go back in the same box.
