Default Snow shoe and ski trials

Connie and I went out this morning and did a little snowshoing and it was awesome. Here is the link to the Umaine trails and a picture of the trails if anyone is interest. If you havent done them, there are a few caches along the way near the trails.

    Lightbulb Augusta Area

The State Arboretum is also another great place to ski and snowshoe. It's in Augusta. Here's their website: http://pinetreestatearboretum.org/
There's no maps for the trails, but they are well marked, and you're safe taking the Viles Pond Loop which is about a mile. There's also geocaches in the Arboretum, including this new multi: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache...b-c8a8f1120906 which highlights the history of the land.
Get out there and enjoy the snow!

    Lightbulb Another in Augusta

Kaching Karen and I just enjoyed an afternoon at the Augusta Nature Center: http://www.augustanaturecenter.com/ which is great for snowshoeing but trails aren't grouped for skiing. Karen has a cache hidden there, and since we just got it, it may be winter accessable for a day, then it may be frozen again... http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache...a-44f7d1c39855
    Happy caching!

No I haven't but I've heard from others at the DEP who've run into him from time to time...

    How's the caching going?

Default I have a bookmark list

As you will notice it does NOT say snowshoe caches. I have intended this to be a listing of areas to snowshoe in. Some of these areas allow snowmobiles, while others do not. Please refer to the icons on the cache page for that information. This list will be used during the Grab your Snowshoes Event 2008. I will make all attempts to mark those caches that ARE winter friendly. Remember that the best time to snowshoe is early after a large snowfall, before anyone else gets out there.

You can find it attached to: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache...7-3d1428c170c1 Grab your Snowshoes.

    Enjoy............

Team2hunt. I found your list (the link above helped), but I have a question. Can you put the caches in that list on a map? I remember someone doing that for the Delorme Challenge. Can someone out there do that for me?

Look all the way down to the lower left of the list. Click on "Create Pocket Query" You will then be able to drop it into GSAK and have all the places to snowshoe listed.

Drop that list into the Delorme Challenge KML file that Brdad created .
Just smile it won't crack your face

Here are the caches that are avialible for snow show. Some of them might be very difficult to find in the snow but that adds to the challenge.
