Exclamation I've had a few myself

I have had on more than one occasion received an e-mail saying it was pay pal. I too looked at them with suspicion. Especially when they come to an address that I don't use with them. I have been a member there since 2001 and have had no problem with Pay Pal itself. Scammers are everywhere unfortunately. Glad you caught it Dave.

I got one just like that about a year ago, called paypal pretty mad about it. They told me it was a fake and I forwarded the letter to their fraud department.
The big tip-off is "Is this addressed to 'my name' or dear member". I've seen this with Bank of America letters too.

The rule of thumb is to never reply to anything that looks like Paypal. Paypal will even tell you that they do not send out emails.

I look into numerous of these a year for my job, and they are all scams and phishing expeditions. Fortuantly we've educated the public in the area fairly well and the complaints have slowed down in dealing with these emails. Glad you didn't fall for it and give any information up.

Lee tuned me onto a couple cute commercials and other phishing information at this web site: http://onguardonline.gov/index.html. Of course, since Dave has reached the end of the internet, he has probably already been here.

I'll bet he skipped a few pages...
