Sheesh! Europe! The ultimate caching trip! After arriving yesterday after an exhausting 17 hour trip (Bangor, Philadelphia, Madrid, Jerez), we spent our first full day in Rota, Spain today. And after our first day, we realize that this is going to be one EXPENSIVE trip! Everything is to expensive - $5 for a 1/2 liter Coke at the Madrid airport - and after the US $ has taken a really beating in Europe, we're going to be spending a lot more than we projected. And 45 Euros last night - about $70 - for a dinner that would probably have cost us $25 in the US Sheesh! Glad we have plenty of space on the credit cards!

Rented a car for the 3 weeks we'll be here - $1,000 for that. But we're going to do our first day of caching tomorrow, getting used to a standard shift after 25 years and getting used to a car that's about 1/4 the size of the Geocache Explorer. We're making a practice run south, towards Gibraltar, with the idea of actually going to Gibraltar on Thursday. Lots of caches in that area, and we should be able to get some monkey photos for Jake.

Note to PJPreb: We haven't made contact with your friends in Portugal yet, but we expect to go there next week, so I'll be contacting them soon. We did exchange emails a month or so ago.
