Default RE: Need some math help

Calling any and all mathematicians . . . can someone help me figure out the conversions here . . . The measured block was 44 inches by 47 inches by 77 inches. I know how to convert to centimers (thank you internet) . . . but I have no idea on how to convert these numbers to a weight.

convert inches to centimeter (2.540*inches) then L*W*H equals area/volumn or cm3, Multiply cm3 x grams/cm3 to figure out total grams. 453.6 grams = 1 pound therefore divide g/cm3 by 453.6 Divide that answer by 2000 pounds for a U.S short ton and then divide that by the amount the vehicle can carry and you have your answer....easy Huh???

Thanks for the replies . . . especially TRF. I've got to take off and do some classes at the high school soon (I'll be attempting to burn down The Pines today with some fire extinguisher classes . . . incidentally I ran into Upsalquitch yesterday at the school -- apparently he was getting some of his students to help him find Ms.TeaLee's Critter Cache but was having some issues on Stage #3), but I'll get to this later today or early next week. Thanks again.

Just smile it won't crack your face
