    I. GeocachingMaine.org’s Advisory Board seeks input on new elections
    -----------------------------------------------------------
--GeocachingMaine.org has an Advisory Board. The five-member Board has posted a thread seeking input on whether elections should be held to elect a new Board. Please contribute to the discussion at http://www.geocachingmaine.org/forum...ead.php?t=3501. There will be a voting poll on the forums to vote whether or not to hold elections. If the vote is in favor of having elections another voting poll will be held to determine new or re-elected Board members.

II. Orange Cachers: Think hunting season
    -----------------------------------------------------------
Geocachers discuss caching during the hunting season
--While this feature would have been good for the October Newsletter, be aware that some hunting seasons extend into the winter months of 2009! Most cachers continue caching into the fall and even winter. Be sure to do so safely by being obviously human to hunters. Team2Hunt posted links to the hunting seasons of Maine and surrounding states at http://www.geocachingmaine.org/forum...ead.php?t=3489, “A little common sense goes a long way this time of year.” He goes on to suggest that if you see or hear hunters in the area, then you should consider skipping on to the next cache location. Dubord207 agrees, “The regular rifle season lasts only a month so let's give the deer hunters their space and keep the peace.”
--There is also a “hunting” attribute that you can add to your cache pages, letting people know in case they are hunters and want to explore new hunting ground or if they’re not interested in getting a cache during hunting season when hunters may be around.
    -----------------------------------------------------------
III. Enjoying the pickle: Geocachers’ favorite cache locations
    -----------------------------------------------------------
--Pickle Hill Overlook (GC1FWMX) is a recent favorite of several cachers. It’s a nice ride on a dusty logging road, a beautiful view, and the cache container was in a friendly location. WhereRWe? and RULost2? enjoyed their favorite type of cache location when they went after Wight’s Pond Cache (GCNVQ1): crossing a stream during a nice walk through the woods to an ammo can.
--Some enjoy a challenging location. Death Wish #1 (GCRCAJ) is a favorite of VicBiker: “I did it in the early spring, with the water rushing over the falls. The challenge of just getting to the cache, then finding this well hidden cache as the water rushed by only a few feet away made this cache live up to its name.” Team2Hunt enjoys caches that require visits to a variety of places like the Eustis Challenge (GC1EE71), and he likes the ones that require some paddling.
--Some prefer the peaceful or sightful locations. “Basically, my favorites are woods caches, near water, peaceful, quiet spots with no muggles, not too hard to get to,” says kayaking loon. French's Mountain (GCJFZR) offers views of long pond, “that are hard to beat, and the hike up is a lot of fun, but not overwhelming for the kids,” shares fins2right and he goes on to say, “Center Hill Cache (GCH20W) in Mt. Blue State Park might just have the best view of fall leaves in the state. With Webb Pond in the foreground and the Tumbledown Range changing colors, that's about as pretty as you can get.”

    Unhappy sorry about the links

I'm sorry everyone that the Newsletter you got in your email had broken links. It appears when I post the Newsletter in the forums, here or in the Boards forum where they review it and copy it to email to you, the links get automatically shortened with elipses, that when you receive prevent the link from working properly (it just doesn't recognize the original full URL). We'll try to prevent this in the future by not copying the Newsletter form the Board forum to email it to you. Instead, I'll email the reviewed Newsletter in txt format to Rick who will copy it from there into his email to email to you all. We'll see if that works.

So besides the link, how's the Newsletter?
"Given a chance, a child will bring the confusion of the world to the woods, wash it in the creek, turn it over to see what lives on the unseen side of that confusion." --Richard Louv, Last Child in the Woods

Just smile it won't crack your face

The statistics on sanity are that one out of every four persons is
suffering from some sort of mental illness. Think of your three best
friends -- if they're okay, then it's you.
