Whoa, whoa whoa. I meant what I said. I think she is something indeed.
Let me tell you a few things...
A few months ago when I had first started I was looking for a cache and posted a DNF on it. Out of nowhere came this email from someone I didn't know offering help. She even went out of her way the next day and checked to see if it was there. It was, and she gave me a hint. I went out again and still could not find it. Now I'll tell you something very special, she had gone so far as to bring up my profile and look at my pictures and then she happened to be going by and recognized me from that research and stopped to help. I was a little too quick and had just left so I missed her. Needless to say I still couldn't find it. After a couple of more emails and going back a couple more times with even more hints I finally found it. I still would not have found it to this day without her help because up until just recently I had not thought about asking for a hint from anyone even the owner. It was a very hard one, especially for a green horn. To top it all off the cache wasn't even hers.
Another amazing thing to me...
4 new caches popped up on the site up in Orono. Several of the FTF crew went up and could not find them. Some had tried more than once. It was looking like a hoax. Some how she found the person that put the caches out and figured out what was wrong. She had figured out that the person was using the wrong Datrum and went again out her way to go and help with the placement and listing. I figured like most everyone else that it was a hoax but she not only figured it out, she helped fix it.
Ask just about any question and she has an answer. She seems to have her finger on anything that is going on anywhere. I don't know how she does it.
And on, and on, and on. So many things that I could go on for a long time.
Please don't read something into what I write. I'm a person that is not offended easily. I can't remember being offended by anything someone said or did. I just kind of take things as they are. So I live that way and I'm shocked when I offend someone. I just can't make the connection most of the time.
Now all that being said...
I am sincerely sorry to Lois Ann for offending you by not stating things in a way that was proper. I do think you are something.
I have no enemies, but I'm intensely disliked by my friends.
Fair enough and thanks for responding. I didn't want to start a fight but I know Lois took it wrong as well. That's the thing about the web and this site. You just never know what the "words" mean without the benefit of hearing the voice and reacting to the manner in which those words are spoken. Glad you clarified what you really meant.
Sometimes the road less traveled is less traveled for a reason.
State parks may require more than a ranger's permission. I, along with everyone else in my family aside from my mom, worked at Colonial Pemaquid for 4 summers and we found there was one there the whole time without our knowledge. Not a big deal looking back because they didn't disrupt the history or anything and they weren't in an area where one could get harmed in searching. GCGD6X was placed with no permission but has been ok'd by each new manager that comes in. While my dad still rangers there, he has the two existing caches in the park ok'd with each new manager that comes in. While he likes the fact that they are there and can watch people search from a distance at times, he isn't one to just say they are ok because he caches. Always have a park manager ok them just to be sure.

I appreciate everyone's feedback on this issue. I have some ideas for caches, but finding the time to go out and get everything in place can be tricky sometimes.
Sometimes I think it would be easier for everyone involved if there were a specific blanket policy for caching in all state parks. I know down here in my specific county in particular( Lancaster county where I live) they have a blanket policy for all the parks and recreation areas and geocachers have pretty much free reign on placing caches in them.Took some time but it was well worth the effort to get them accepted and now most all of the LCPR have at least one cache in them. LCPR? (Lancaster County Parks and Recreation Department)
Just smile it won't crack your face
The statistics on sanity are that one out of every four persons is
suffering from some sort of mental illness. Think of your three best
friends -- if they're okay, then it's you.
I would tend to think that most state park locations would be approved by staff as long as the locations don't disrupt the areas (geotrails where there weren't before). Honestly, if the park has a gate at the entrance, why would the state complain about something that brings people in? I remember my second summer, we had mandated shut down days because the state needed to make budget cuts. Any income should be welcomed these days.

Maine State parks have very different needs and restrictions so they cannot have the same rules. Baxter Park, for example, must abide by the terms Percival Baxter set when he gave the land to the people of Maine and likely, only Earthcaches will ever be allowed.
Most state parks seem to embrace caching. Patrick McGowan specifically listed "Geocaching" as one of the activities that are encouraged on Department of Conservation lands!
Don't be afraid to ask! You just may make a friend in the park system!
The farmer gave permission to place the cache in the field, but the bull charges.
