Four pop into my mind automatically when thinking of my favorites. Two for the area you visit and two for the difficulty of the find that made it great. Two of the most difficult to find, at least for me anyway, and also the most original hides were Old 470 and Pontiac Silver Streak. It's been my experience, anytime someone says, "this is what caching is about" or "very, very clever" it is going to be an interesting adventure. My other two favorites, were just awesome areas to see. YOP's Mascot Pond Leadmine cache in NH was everything you'd want in a cache find. An excellent hike, excellent views and scenery and it's by YOP, what else could you ask for?? The other favorite find was Devil's Den, in Andover. It was like a Maine version of The Grand Canyon. Now, I have a whole new year of favorite caches to discover......by the way, now that I finally found Perkins Sanctuary, I guess I might be able to sneak that one onto my favorites list....
Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising everytime we fall.

Three favorites come quickly to mind, BALDMTM by Team Luck and Mascot Pond Leadmine Cache by Ye Olde Prospector. The hikes to get to these two caches were awesome! Brdad mentioned some caches might be memorable because of who you went with or humorous events and that brings to mind, Peter Poore's Grave by Wilky & Quebbly. That was a nice walk in some very pretty woods and an interesting spot with some history AND where Lost Hiker Man stopped me from "stealing" the very nice chain saw that was just left sitting at the edge of the woods with no one around who might have owned it. We thought it might already have been stolen and someone was waiting for the "coast to clear" before coming back to get it. I picked it up to walk out with it, but let Lost Hiker Man put it back when I realized that he might never hike with me again! Really, I was just teasing him and had no intentions of stealing it! But, he got the last laugh on me, when later he told me that his mother (who works at a Police Dept) said, "well if it was stolen, then our prints were on it''!

Should the originator of the thread have said "I was just wondering what other people had in mind for their favorite caches [except those that 'WhereRWe?' finds offensive]"???????
Some difficult caches I'm able to find fairly easily and the converse is also true; as with many cachers, those that give me the most problems are also the most satisfying when I figure them out.
I DID object to the owners.
I DID object to the approver.
I HAVE expressed my dislike for valueless micro caches several times, and MOST cachers agree that putting a magnetic key container or film container behind every sign and dumpster is NOT geocaching.

And MY opinion is just that - MINE. If you like micro caches, go for them.
And I don't like lobster, either.

    Default Favorite group caches

I have a hard time picking favorites. But for group caches, you can't beat "Etna Bog". Just goes to show, you can't judge people by the signs in their front yard. And, just as fun, "Apple Orchard", how can so many cachers, with so much high-tech gagets get so mislead!

Yeah, the fence got me too, but the tractor blocking my truck so I couldn't leave took the cake!

Tom is referring to another Apple Orchard down southern Maine way. The Apple farm is the one in Skowhegan where you got boxed in....lol
Just smile it won't crack your face

The statistics on sanity are that one out of every four persons is
suffering from some sort of mental illness. Think of your three best
friends -- if they're okay, then it's you.

    Default Yet another one!

Oh my goodness ~ HOW could I have forgotten to put Etna Bog on my favorites list? Wow - the fact that I survived that one at all warrants that it be on the list. My favorite thing about it? It's done!

This is exactly why identifying favorites is so tough - LOL - I keep thinking of more great times!

Nope, that's the same one Tom was refering to, between Waterville and Skowhegan. I have a picture (I'd post it, but it's a spoiler) of TAT, Dave1976 and Girlmate...all on the wrong side of the fence (with the cache visible on the other side). That was the SECOND wrong fence decision we had made on this cache. We got it right on the third...

    Default Ooops...

Apple Farm, not Orchard, there's a difference!
