    Default bad idea...

You think people get crazy when they find a geocache and don't know what it is...

Just don't do your laundry in Brazil and you should be all set.

Unfortunately, I can see someone getting hurt over this "promotion." Mostly the person knocking on the door of the consumer.
Oscilating between remarkable brillance and sheer stupidity with amazing regularity.

There has been a similar promotion with coke in the US already.

IIRC the cans for the Coke promotion had to be activated and the recipient had to agree to the terms if they chose to participate.

Of course, this soap story could be the same case, and the person reporting on it did not look into the details.

I'd still be upset if I bought one can and went to drink it on top of a mountain and found it it was undrinkable!

I think these companies take a big risk with these types of promotions, there is lots that can go wrong. Anyone remember the Magellan promotion that turned into a mess? Still, it's good they try something new, variety is a good thing.

Q: How many Magellan employees does it take to screw in a light bulb?
A: One, and 200 geocachers to show them where the light bulb really is.

The RFID brought to you by Wal mart has had great problems. The manufacturers are fighting it like crazy. The local stores are fighting it and the customers are fighting it.

Just before I stopped working for the great evil empire they set up a test run. I could not resist checking it out and found something interesting. The chips are very susceptible to magnetic fields. I set up a homemade electro magnet to test things out. Accidentally blowing out the entire system and knocking out the main computer. Luckily we had a backup system that took over.

So when the RFID comes to town get a Tape eraser and go to the back of the store near the bathrooms and fire it up. No more spy tracking for them.

On the other hand I would love to see the holocaust on video when the prize patrol pulls up to one of those houses and the guns start firing.

I have no enemies, but I'm intensely disliked by my friends.
