    isnt a 35 mm film canister easier and about the same size? just saying.....

    these cost 10 cents because you loose 2 bottle deposits LOL.....how much are film canisters?

    Assuming you did a good job gluing or maybe even melting the two halves together, it could be a sturdier, watertight option as opposed to the film canister. I don't know what the cost of the film canister is. They must be getting rarer and rarer every day?
