    Default Boothbay Region Land Trust

Dozens of caches were placed in various preserves in the Boothbay area, and adopted by the BRLT. Does anyone know the story behind these adoptions?

Only that I have found a bunch and have had contact with the person taking care of them.

    What's your concern?
I have no enemies, but I'm intensely disliked by my friends.

The caches on BRLT land were originally placed by various cachers. As I recall, once the BRLT learned of geocaches on it's property, they chose to adopt the caches and maintain them personally. At the time, some of them were not being maintained as well as they desired. I think Haffy or another caches was in contact with them at the time, perhaps he can elaborate on the details.

I am the one caring for and maintaining the caches on BRLT for them. I pestered them enough and they finally allowed me to place new caches there as long as they adopt them. They shoot me an email when someone makes a note about maintenance in their log and I go and take care of it.

As far as adopting them, I believe that they just want control of caches placed on their property. Does that answer your question?

Actually it was me who got the BRLT to adopt the caches on their properties as they were being neglected by the original owners the Pike Patrol as they were basically summertime people. They were really excited at first and yes they wanted control over them on their properties. I'm glad that Itlindian is now taking care of them.

I asked for permission to place a cache on BRLT property, got permission and placed one. And as far as I know, I'm the one taking care of it.. although I don't mind if Michelle does it for me. But if I got a "log is full" post or any other that mentioned maintenance, I'd probably get there as soon as I could to do it myself. If I ever couldn't maintain it I'd let BRLT adopt it.

Again I ask, what is your concern? Is there a problem?

I'm guessing the concern is minimal since they have not logged into the site since they posted.

Curiosity. Why are you having a problem with me asking?
