    Default Setting home in GSAK

I want to set my home in the GSAK filter but I cannot remember how.

My coordinates are N 44° 10.116 W 069° 59.558 and no matter what conversion I use I can not get it to work. Here is the format GSAK is asking for.

    # Latitude, Longitude
    # Both the following formats are supported
    #
    # 32.7123, -101.2045
    # S32 25.921, E 115 46.050
    #
    # To include a waypoint from the database
    # use the format W,xxxxxx (xxxxxx = code)
    # or just flag them and click on the button
    # below this box.

    N 44° 10.116 W 069° 59.558 in decimal degrees is 44.168600,-69.992633.
There is a neat utility called Fizzycalc which does great job with conversions, projections, and more.

    Ok, full instructions:
In order to set your home location, or add a new location...

Most any coordinate format should work, no need to convert.

From the file menu, choose Tools, then choose Options, then choose Locations.

Type in a location name, then latitude, then longitude all separated by commas like this (You may or may not need the comma between the lon and lat depending on version):

    Old470,44.5598,-69.626833
    OR
    Old470,N 44 33.588, W 69 37.610
    OR
    Old470,19T E 450219 N 4934243

And don't include the # in front of the data, I believe that makes it a note.

Yes don't include the # in front of the coordinates and you should be good to go.

Thank you Brdad and others. Now I have to remember how to do the filters. I wish I could have made the GSAK event.

This file (also mentioned in another thread), http://tinyurl.com/2c7kl34, is full of helpful specific directions. It's the PDF File used as the power point presentation during the GSAK class, and at this point, I would be lost without it. I think it would even be helpful if you didn't make it to the class.
