Nobody has ever accused or suggested even in jest that the site owner, Rick, has mishandled funds. Anybody want to step up to the plate and take that CHEAP shot? While you may be disinclined to pony up on this, and that's fine, I find it rather bold for you, 3beans, to "discourage folks from making donations." It's not required, you're as free as anybody not to donate but why try and cause an uprising over this? Good thing I'm not Governor Lepage!

Sorry to take thread further off topic.

    Right Dan-O

I have know Rick since before GCMe was GCMe. I also know he would never have asked anyone for money to run this site. But things cost money, and it should not come out of his own pockets. The site is for all to use and it is a very small donation if anyone even chooses to. I have and will continue to send a little in every year. I will say, if you enjoy what this site does for caching in our Maine community then send what it is worth to you. If it isn't worth anything then send nothing.
    Happy Trails!

One of the threads discussing finances is GeocachingMaine finances. Notice it is not a thread named Nominations for board members. That would be this thread - the one discussing nominees for the election the majority voted on having.

Boy Scouts, East vs. West, Finances, Fundraisers, Local contacts - all great subjects and worthy of their own threads. The majority of members voted to have an election, I assume this means an election was important to them. But is sure is hard to tell the way the topics are flying here.

It's like if we all go caching in your jeep, you don't ask for money but we still chip in to help pay for gas. The website needs gas too!

You're right. So to get back on point, please consider my commentsas my official position on where I will be on the issue of financial reports if elected!

Sorry if I was a bit harsh there, I just think this is important.

Good laugh from the "crotchety policeman of threads gone astray" title. I promise to keep that up whether I am elected or not as well.

I have started a thread for anyone to post their campaign speeches. Get to know your nominees

I don't care that several years ago that there was a dust up between the north and the south. People that keep trying to infuse a difference between any of us is despicable. There is no difference between us except in your minds. The biggest problems with these events is distance.

Any attempts at encouraging or exploiting a difference is terrible. In the entire time I have been a part of geocaching I have never heard anyone say anything about a northern Maine geocachers group. However there is quit a few that have sponsored and supported SoMe geocachers. (Southern Maine geocachers).

As far as I can see there has been nothing but an inclusive effort by the board members and people above the Augusta line and a lot of separatist rhetoric from the those below that supposed line.
