Well, that doesn't really work since the GC.com logs only show "named" geocachers, not the number in the actual party. For example, at WWWWWW6, there were only 41 logs, but my count was 62 based on the number of door prize tickets I handed out. Since you KNOW everyone who attended got a door prize ticket, I'd trust that count. LOL!

Default Celebrate 10 years in Maine

There were 111 people at the event in January. I bet it's close to one of the biggest. Doesn't really matter, but it would be cool to figure it out.

    Default great answers....

thanks for all the answers to my question, but I am still wondering.......

what is it about a particular event that made you want to attend?
Why not live life like it is your last day....instead of pretending to be a member of the Peter Pan Club and believing you will be around forever.

I've made a lot of friends while geocaching, and events are a great opportunity to see them.

Past attendance/experience with that event weighs in heavily as to if I go again. Work conflicts often prohibit my going, so there's another factor. Finally, I'd love to go to more, simply to visit with old friends and make new ones.

The people. I usually don't care to be in in large groups or go to parties, but cachers are good people. I'd go to a lot more if less fun tasks would stop interfering!

Never really was an event type of guy . . . but Hiram's first ever Tread Lightly event sucked me in . . . camping, caching and exploring some backwood caches in a 4WD vehicle just sounded too good . . . it was a good move . . . after having met him I earned a Smiley . . . and more important a very good friend.

So I guess to answer your question . . . for me it was about finding an event with activities that I like . . . which is why I have since attended other Tread Lightly events, hosted my own ATV caching event and have even branched out to a few other events -- mainly because a few of my close caching friends were there.
