Interesting.
Looking forward to learning more. Calendar is marked.
Might be just the event to get back to Maine for a few days next year.
Lord willing, I'll be there. Sign me up! Would love to know where the main venue will be in Portland?
Brdad, How about an earth cache density map to to determine where the most earthcaches are centered in the state? I would tend to think the event would have to be Portland, Augusta, (Yarmouth for an event with the largest globe)or Bangor to handle the amount of people if its that successful of a Mega-event.
What is it that makes this an Earthcache specific Mega and not just a regular mega? Is everything just going to revolve around eartcaches?

This was discussed in the early stages. The Portland area was chosen to make access easy for people from away. The idea is to promote the placement of more EarthCaches in the Portland area before the event to help with the current deficit. The event is also going to contain as many EarthCache related activities as possible.

Sheesh! Fantastic opportunity for Maine! (And if you get the guy to add a link to GeocachingMaine.org on the front page of his website, I'll sign up to be a volunteer! LOL!)
