I called Peggy, told her what was going on with the GPS and she told me the best thing to do is send it to Magellan for repair.

I was thinking.... whats the chances of this problem happening again, and again, and again . . . . . ?

From posts that I have read in the GC.com forums, the Magellan support sucks unlike the great support that comes from Garmin. Hope it's still under warranty,if not it could be expensive.

Its not under warranty.. I sent my sportrak map to Ontario, the place the USA Magellan suggested I send it cause I'm in Canada. I called the guy and told him the problem. He told me to send it, and if he could fix it, it would be about $60 Canadian.

Sounds like you got a good deal then. Good luck with it.
