Pretty much a half hearted attempt to satisfy the the call to bring back virtuals. The time line shows since another site added virtuals to it's repertoire groundspeak had to finally address the issue.
It didn't turn out well.

It seems to me they are trying to get people on the site and logging finds, or what ever you do for a challenge, that do not even have or need a GPSr. HEY!!!!! this might be the wave of the future when the new 4G networks override all of the GPS frequencies.
